Twitter's a perpetual outrage machine.

Studio posts image, people complain. Studio apologizes and pulls image, different people complain louder. If we could generate electricity from it, the studio would then apologize and put the image back up...

Twenty years later, a small child wonders if there was a time the Canine Usurpers weren't in control before getting sent back to the kibble-mines.

I kinda find it hard to care about anything that happens on Twitter any more.

Also, the whole thing seems dumb to me from start to finish.
So I have to give the whole thing a big old `meh`.

Lots of overreaction.

Somehow this seems to fit really well with that last Game Theory that was posted on youtube. (The one about puppets)

Another 'meh' from here. Maybe a little smaller, though, and mostly pointed at the direction of the circumstance that a national cleavage day appears to exist. What nation does that? Edit: South Africa, huh? And created by a company? Good for you.

Not sure if it makes you feel better, but I don't consider feminism one bit less viable because of this. And there are probably one or two more people who think like me. So... there's that. Have a nice day.

Captcha: him with her. Are these somehow checking for relevance on the respective sites? Hehe.

And once again I see more outrage thrown AT the people complaining about this, than I see from the people ACTUALLY complaining.

What's up with that?

How is that "insensitive" and "discriminatory"?
That's like the tamest picture ever. What is even happening?
It's insensitive towards women without perfects breasts they can display... or something.
I started writing that line as a joke, but now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure there is at least one over-sensitve and over-excitable activist who would say something like that with a straight face... It's kind of scary to live in the age of Poe's Law gone wild...

Given that we regularly celebrate holidays put in place to assimilate conquered populaces into a national religion, I don't really have a problem with this.

Neither do I. Just... meh. I'm literally shrugging my shoulders right now while I try to come up with anything worthwhile to say about this. Meh...

1) no one is stopping anyone from posting male cleavage pictures, hell lionhead DID post one even.

2) did she forget that lesbian/bisexuals exist? hell most of the lesbians I know are bigger perverts than I am when it comes to oggling boobies.

3) is there a surgery now that involves getting your funny bone removed and shoved straight up your anus? it seems like too many people are getting this now a days...

honestly if I was lionhead, I would've just posted even MORE pictures after that, if their jimmies are THAT rustled over it, they need to re prioritize their lives.

People then complained that the image was in poor taste, discriminatory, and insensitive due to how many women are depicted in games.
The proper response from Lionhead Studios should have been "Other company's failure to be equal in representation is not our problem".

Its Brianna Wu. That's about par for the course for her honestly. I admit that I'm quite amused by how she's effectively denying the existence of lesbians and bisexuals there though. Bet nobody called her out on it either.

Honestly though this kind of moral indignation over something so silly and petty helps nobody. Though I'm singularly unsurprised that it happened. The current climate of fear and hate over everyone and everything being sexist that is being fostered lends itself well to jumping on anything like this.

Is there a reason this day needs to exist in the first place?
I mean, isn't there plenty of (softcore) porn on the internet already?

As a man who likes boobs I feel discriminated every time I look on twitter. The sheer hatred for my life choice to enjoy big, juicy jubblies makes me feel ashamed for my appreciation of the female form. One day the world will be open and inclusive enough for me to hold my head high, and with pride state to all the world my love for the devils pillows, but until that day comes I shall have to resign myself to anonymous posts on the internet.

My thoughts are that it's hardly the most offensive thing in the world to Tweet, and if I were Lionhead, I wouldn't have felt the need to remove it. Buuuuuuuut, since they did, the reaction to that has been pathetic.

So yeah, the whole thing's rather stupid.

It's worth noting, they posted a male version too.

Frankly, I find people who get upset about this kind of thing to just be pathetic and childish. The image isn't going to jump out of your screen and attack you. Nor is anyone going to somehow think women are "Objects" because of it.

Although, I do find it rather amusing that people complain about objects being objectifying.

"That 3D model is objectifying women".

"Well, no shit, it's not an actual woman, you know".

Perhaps they're afraid women will randomly start turning into life-sized Lara Croft statuettes.

Who the fuck gets mad about cleavage? If you're a woman you either show cleavage or you don't. If you do then fuck off, you have nothing to complain about. And if you don't, then fuck off as well because it doesn't concern you. As a man who doesn't shy away from his evolutionary biases, I admit that I love me some cleavage. I love boobs. It's not unnatural to love boobs. It's not sexist or misogynist. Men love it and women know it. It's the way of the world. There is absolutely nothing fuckin' offensive about boobs. If anyone thinks otherwise, I dare you to write a nasty letter to all of those magazines that feature scantily clad women, you fuckin' hypocrite.

I mentioned that in the OP, but I guess I need to include that image as well.

National Cleavage Day was a silly advertisement campaign for sexy female lingerie (pushup bras specifically, a product designed to enhance cleavage) in 2002 in South Africa. But some people thought it was funny, so every year they mention it, and then a bunch of people like Brianna Wu lose their collective shit because, essentially, sexy underwear, commercials, and people who dare to mention publicly that they like boobs exist.
