And speaking of which, you can tell Tom's barely able to keep himself from laughing when he calls the guy that was at the podium a mewling quim. I've been looking forward to the new Thor movie for a while now. The first one wasn't as good as Captain America or Iron Man, but I still thought it was a lot of fun.

And indeed, they probably would have gotten cheers if Thor had been the one to show up, but no one works a crowd quite like Loki.

You know. Robert Downey Jr IS Tony Stark/Iron Man. There are few who can deny it. You see a modern version of the character and they are basically trying their best to be Robert Downey Jr. And for damn good reason!

In the same way, Tom Hiddleston IS Loki. He owns that role, now. I swear I've seen newer versions in media which are obviously modeled after him. And I gotta admit that he did a great job in the role. Avengers was great, and one reason was Loki.

Why can't DC seem to get the same traction? I can think of no actor that is Batman. Other than Kevin Conroy. No one actor that is the Joker. Other than Mark Hammil (though Heath Ledger and John Dimaggio are close). No one actor is Superman. No one is Green Lantern. When I think DC heroes, I think of voice actors. When I think Marvel, I think of the actual actors. And while I love the DC voice actors, they will never get a big budget Justice League film going unless they can cast those roles with memorable standout people.

Also, I liked whatshisname as Thor. Sure, Chris Evans is more memorable as Captain America, but still.

I'm gonna be very sad when Loki stop appearing on the marvel movies. I will deeply miss him.

I think he slipped out of character, just a teeny bit, when it got a bit too much. There was a laugh that was Tom Hiddleston chuckling at how boss he was being before he went back to gnawing the set.

To be fair it's not out of place as the movie version of Loki actually behaves like this. He can be evil grinning and jolly one second and then be dead/angry serious the next and back and forth again all the time. If you watch the Avengers conversations between him and Widow or Stark he switches moods about 5 times in both of those scenes alone.

I guess it part of the "madness" of his character.

I didn't mean it as a bad thing, a complaint or an insult.. just that I thought I had spotted it. I wouldn't begrudge anyone were they to take a moment - accidentally or intentionally - to think "Bloody hell, this is amazing, this lot are eating out of the palm of my hand!" in a situation like that.

I've seen Avengers enough times but a moment there looked like Tom to me. I could be wrong.

There will be teeth marks in all the sets AND IT WILL BE GLORIOUS.

I want a sitcom where Loki and red skull live together. Imagine them in the checkout que at the shops.

Well, technically you'd have to ask why can't The Joker do this, seeing as Loki is pretty much a Supernatural, Norsified Joker! Or... The Joker is just a completely human, non-supernatural version of Loki...? With a bit more of an insanity streak... yeah... bit more...


And the reason why? Christopher Nolan. =P

Now, if only Batman could get the whole "tie him down with the entrails of his son, and drip venom on his face, so he is imprisoned until the apocalypse" thing down, instead of him escaping every sixty seconds.

Considering the actor that played the Joker is dead, that would be a pretty impressive feat for DC and Warner Bros. to pull off.
