LOST is a show for people with long attention spans.
Sure, there are lots of questions posed, but not only do you feel real smart when you figure out the answers, but when they do explain stuff, it's explained really well

Never watched it - was going to but then I heard about polar bear in tropics and said no
They explained that, and that's exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about

So please, PLEASE is there still somebody out there that likes it, or at least watches it.
I still watch it and like it. I am fighting the urge to think it's stupid because of the below.

I gave up on as soon as they introduced time travel. I just couldn't take it anymore. My mind can't handle all the confusing and convoluted crap the show is dishing out. I had to stop.
So I was handling it. It was kinda strange and there's some stuff going on but this may be a little far fetched. And the end of Series 4, although a shock, was also a bit - "pufft, shutup, that's stupid."

Not long to go till it finishes though, so i'm going to watch it spiral. For good or bad.

I watched season 1 and 2, then it got moved to sky channel and I couldn't watch it anymore.

Reasontly, I found a site that had every episode from start to finish, so I watched that for a few weeks. Haven't looked back.

I can understand why people don't like it. I personally [b/]LOVE[/b] confusing shows (like the first season of Heroes). I think the many people who left did so because they thought the writers where making it up as they went along. With only 1 and a bit seasons to go before it's all over it becoming clear that that isn't the case at all. While questions are still being asked, we're now getting answers every episode. I suppose if you can't get over Polar bears, a giant smoke monster and a button you have to press every 108 minites to save the world then your not going to like it.

I feel you man. I'm the only person I know that watches Lost and I keep trying to get my friends into it but it's tough. I love the show though and I'm not giving up. It's still better than Heroes which has REALLY gotten boring.

All of those have been explained except the smoke monster, which has been explained partially.

They played every season of Lost last year to lead up to season five so I'm pretty much coming in to Lost when every one is on their way out...but I'm downright astonished how a video game related board is so close minded about the Lost storyline.

POLAR BEARS?! FUCK THAT! I ain't watching it!

Really people? There is a satisfactory explanation for them but you simply couldn't bother I guess. Granted the show is in REALLY strange territory (Brush up on your ancient Egypt knowledge folks) now but it's also at a point where you can build your own solid theories with a simple application of imagination. Maybe I'm just overestimating people's attention spans...

I've been watching from season 1, episode 1, and I absolutely hate it. The reason I continue to watch is simple: I always watch a series to it's conclusion. Basically, I've spent too much time on it to begin with to just give up and quit. Yeah, yeah, weak reasoning, but still...

Anyways, I thought the show started off great, then got worse and worse with every season that's gone by. When it started, it all seemed possible, and just got less believeable as time went on.

I watched the first season, but followed it more spottily. There are several things... off about the series.

1stly; why so many crash survivors? You only needed a handful. It would be more realistic too. 50+ people do not survive plane crashed. And from a production perspective it must cost a bunch. So why? The only reason I can think of was so if one of the regular actors left they could pull up an extra and carry on as normal.

2ndly: Backstory. At first this was good, an insight into the characters. But after a short time it got old. It breaks the flow. Far too much time was spent in the past. I watch to see what the characters are doing NOW! not 3 years ago. In the end they basically serve as an info dump for character traits.

3rdly: The plot. It never seemed to really go anywhere. Oh there was some people of doing their own thing. But for the most part it seemed aimless. More importantly the episoded would drag everything out far too much and the series has no momentum.

Thats about it.

I've watched it since the beginning. It's one of the few television shows I actually watch religiously. So what if the plot is a giant cluster-fuck, it makes me think, and not many shows I've ever seen can do that.
I could mention quite a few Tv shows where the plot is basicly clusterfuck... you just gotta watch the right channels, though i must admit it's not rocket science or deep philosophy thats runnign through my head when i watch them
