I'm currently playing through Lost Odyssey, which I have to say is one of the best games I've played in a long while. The story and characters are great, and it's really fun to have an RPG that plays like the classics but looks modern and detailed. But the thing that makes it the game that has wrung the most tears from me are the dreams.

For those unaware, Lost Odyssey features a cast that consists partially of immortals who have lived for a thousand years, but had their memories of that time taken from them. As the game progresses, Kaim (the protagonist) unlocks various memories from his past, which are presented as a short story (written by a novelist) through stylistic text. They really delve deeply into the psychological, emotional, and philosophical ramifications of immortality in a way I've never seen in another story before. And they're amazing.

So, Escapists, if you've played this wonderful game, what is your favorite dream? Feel free to post Youtube videos, since I'm pretty sure all of them are up there somewhere.

If you're going to talk about details in your post, though, use spoiler tags. That is an absolute requirement. Nobody likes having things ruined for them.

Personally, I have a tie so far, though I've yet to watch all of them. The two best in my mind are Hanna's Departure and Stones of Heaven. You can see them below. Hanna's Departure is just so beautifully sad, and Stones of Heaven is just such an interesting look into human strength and weakness.

So then, which of Lost Odyssey's Thousand Years of Dreams was your favorite?

P.S. This game also proves that whichever Square Enix exec said remaking Final Fantasy VII with modern visuals would take so much time and resources as to essentially be impossible was an idiot. If this game exists as it does, so could a modern remake of Final Fantasy VII.

As much as I loved Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2, when playing Lost Odyssey I'd feel like I was playing a TRUE Final Fantasy game, as if the creators (who WERE from FF) just slapped Square Enix in the face and said "keep the name of the franchise, we'll keep the essence alive", Lost Odyssey was my favorite JRPG of all that I've played, it was simply poetic at moments and extremely rewarding.
The story was great, and the Dreams were greater still. This game deserves a 10/10, it deserves to be praised. I believe a new game by the same men who were behind Lost Odyssey should be delivered, I won't say a sequel nor prequel, but another title altogether, done with the same maestri.

OT: I don't remember the name of the dream anymore, but it was one about everyone being locked in the dark, and when the prison is opened this man goes running out, crazy to see the light of the way, to see the world outside, but his eyes, weakened by the utter darkness they were submitted to, can't stand the light, making him blind, cursing him to see only darkness for the rest of his life.

Los oddessey . The first game to make me tear up . Seriously .

My favorite short story from the 1000 years of dreams is the one with the old lady . I can't remember the name of the story . But the lady was had memory problems and thought she was her 5 year old self . She couldn't remember anything or anyone around her , including her children , but she remember Kaim , who she met 80 years ago . She called him "Big brother Kaim " . IT was a sweet and sad storry .

Or the one with the shoe smith . I liked that one too .
