Beat Guitar Hero 2 and I was trying to get 5 stars on all the songs on expert so I could get the log. I got to the very last tier and then next time I turned on my game, it told me that the data was corrupted and my save had been lost. I was the happiest person in the world.

Manager mode on FIFA, I've lost save files for no reason many a time, through the series, from 05 to 08. Haven't lost anything on 09 though.

I had just beaten the room before vamp, vamp himself, and just finished the mech battle snake has with liquid. That's when my power went out and for some reason my save file would only load me in the beginning of the room before vamp. The one with the three geko units, this was before I knew that a fully charged shot from the rail gun would kill one in one shot.

Just this one time. I got about half-way through Final Fantasy 7, started a new game, accidentally overwrote more advanced file. Never did that one again!

Super Mario 64, lost a save file with 120 stars.
So very, very angry. It happened after I dropped the cartridge, too.

the day after I beat Jak 3, my memory card decided it would be fun to erase all the years of save data I had on it. Endless rage quickly followed.

Recently i re bought fable 2 because i missed it.. I was broke so i asked a mate to lend me about 20.000g Since he is loaded (He has 5 million)

And out of the kindness of his heart he gave me 1 million only for my xbox to freeze and the money to be lost in a cyber-drain hole

I lost probably 200 hours worth of Final Fantasy when my Ps1 memory card thought it would be fun to wipe itself clean, I am still bitter at it about that...

On Final Fantasy Tactics : War of the Lions, I had neglected to save my game before heading into a random battle in one of the field areas.

In keeping with Sods law, not only did the battle go spectacularly badly, my entire party ended up getting knocked down and eventually expiring. As if that wasn't bad enough, with FF Tactics being the unforgiving game that it is, those party members were gone for good.

A thouroghly demoralising experience, given that the party was entirely composed of some of my best characters. Due to this mishap, I have still not completed, or even touched, the game to this day.

Also, anyone who played the Lost Odyssey DLC (the one with Professor K at the end) will know how annoying it is to have to repeat 25 floors worth of random battles everytime he wipes you out, thanks to the games designers brilliant decision not to put any save points anywhere in the dungeon! If it wasn't for that, I may have been more determined to try and finish off that boss again.
