Machinima is it getting Worse?

Latly i have seen a bit of a decline in its rating i see alot more dislikes then likes now days but why do you guys think its failing?

I believe that its failing because some of the shows arnt very interesting or funny there just boring

don't get me wrong i love some shows on there like Sanity is not Included.

but why is it getting dislikes?

Meh, like many things that happen over time they will improve. But honestly I mostly compare all of the Machinima to "Sanity not Included" and the Rooster Teeth's work, they help set a bar. But back to what your saying, it does seem like every eleven year old is learning how to use a capture card lately and it is rather irritating.

I haven't seen a lot of good stuff to come out of Machinima lately. It seems now a lot of the better stuff is coming out of people not affiliated with the website and going directly to youtube.

Now my opinion on Machinima is that more and more people are doing it. Because of this there will be more good stuff, but more not so good stuff to look through to find it.

Thats assuming machinima used to be good. They put out a few vids/series that where good but back then they where also doing allot of ****, its just generally easier to forget the bad vids.

Well, I love me the "How to annoy in CoD" series, and that's about it. Other stuff I watched seems okay though.

The 'How to Annoy People in Call of Duty' videos are a beastly bit of goodness. The channel has a lot of variety, some of which appeals to me and others not so.

I've also long since discovered not to pay much credence to youtube viewers and their ideas of 'taste'.

Old, old RvB was amazing. That's the only machinima I've ever liked.

I must admit The new RvB's look awesome but I've never gotten around to watching them.

Machinima has always been pretty hit and miss, but I think they kind of went downhill when they started posting a bazillion Modern Warfare 2 videos. Granted there are still some great things on there, like Freeman's Mind (when he does another one anyway), Sanity Not Included and Two Best Friends Play.

I find the 'Arby 'n the Chief' series has picked up again, this time with an over arcing plot. I'd say the humor level is getting closer to the first couple of seasons again.

Only worthwile thing to watch on there. I'm so glad you can sub to single series without having to see all the crap the channel puts up.

And that's what I don't get. How can you sub to machinima? They have a shit-ton of vids, there is no way you can keep up with all of that (if *all* of them were even interesting).
I just hate this monopoly on gaming vids they have. Trailers go up earlier on other channels, but get only 1-or-2000 views; machinima puts them up late, gets a million. Bleh.

I don't think that they are getting worse per say. I think the idea of creating them is becoming more popular. Because of that, we get more crap as well as more intelligent movies in the same ratio that we always have.

We will still see people throwing around ragdolls in Garrys Mod and posting it on Youtube, thinking it is a shoe in for the Oscar. However, as the medium takes off, we will also see more movies like Red vs Blue and Ignis Solus.
