Sorry if discussed previously, but I did a quick search (Richmond, Crack, MTG) and didn't find any threads about this

Someone went ti the Richmond, Virginia MTG tourney and took pictures of himself surrounded with butt cracks and it went viral.

What are your thoughts on that? I see that this created a debate around the issue of "Nerd shaming and stereotypes reinforcement" VS "People should take care of themselves more and not show their ass cracks in a public tournament where there was around 4000 people attending and general lack of hygiene from some players in those events"

What are YOUR thoughts?

Yikes.

How do people not notice?

I mean, surely you'd be feeling the draft.

Gotta say though, the tragic look on the guy's face cracks me up. It's like he's lamenting the state of mankind.

EDIT: Pun not intended. I'm so sorry.

The one question we need to discuss the most is this one:

Why did they sit in a way that showed their crack if they didn't want people to see their crack? Is it somehow more okay if you see the actual crack and not a photograph of it?

I mean, come on -- the photographer didn't show people these guys' cracks. These guys showed people their cracks.

I've got to say, it's his "concerned news reporter" expression that gets me, like he's reporting from the scene of some terrible tragedy.

I saw this on Facebook yesterday. Shit is gold. Solid gold. I heard he got banned from MtG tournies for this, which is really sad. People should be able to laugh at themselves.

Oh, wow. You're right. That just makes it complete.

`Nerd shaming`. Lol. They're not getting shamed cause of being nerds. Being a nerd doesn't automatically make your butt visible.

Yeah, people should take care of themselves. I don't think that being a nerd means everyone else has to put up with your asscrack, or that you don't have to take care of yourself.

It used to be a lot like this in my local GAME shop, asscracks galore.

Well, that was unexpected and excellent. Good topic! Banning someone for taking those photos seems like a completely disproportionate response. Sometimes, the temptation to shout "YOUR ARSE IS SHOWING" is nearly impossible to suppress.

This is my hometown, and I love this so much. Probably all gross VCU students.

On a related note, I visit both of Richmond's half-decent game stores on a regular basis and hadn't heard one peep about this fabled Magic tournament. On another related note, these types of people also hang out at said game stores, so maybe that's why I didn't hang around long enough to read all the posters.

Nerd-shaming? Maybe not, but what is he hoping to achieve with this?

It's not an honest attempt at calling attention to public decency (how would this be a hygiene issue?) but just some douche way of gaining some publicity.

Honestly i don't get the crack either, where does this ass get off trying to make fun of people? I mean the cheek it takes to go around a room and do this. Butt i suppose some people are just easily amused. This s scraping the bottom of the barrel if you ask me, kind of the backside of the news.

... Arse, fanny, rear, rump. posterior.
I say good sir, you would get along fine with Colonel Angus, or as he's known after his military discharge, Anal Angus.

Ot:...Why is this being reported on/gone viral? I've been known to have some "crack" issues myself, but frankly, I don't have an ass. By which I mean in regards to the rest of me, my fat resides in my stomache area giving me that 9month pregnant look, my arms are thick but muscled(Not toned mind), my legs are also thick but are toned and my ass...doesn't exist. My pants fall down because I need a waist size rather large given my weight class, however, I lack the proper, how you say, baggage, to fill them in properly. So I frequently need to pull my pants up because of that. Ironically, I can't find a belt that fits at any store, despite said stores selling pants that fit. Explain that one to me.

Why do some people think that being at a tourney or con excuses them from basic hygiene? Seriously, some don't bathe for the entire duration of the event and others wear the same clothes with stains and shit and get angry if you don't want to take a picture with them. There should be some minimum dress standards, something to promote a better image for Magic players.

Criticism of someone for having their ass showing in public is not nerd shaming and suggesting it is is suggesting that showing your ass in public has anything to do with being a nerd, which anyone holding that opinion will have to explain to me.

Hilarious and very unfortunate at the same time.

The guy is attending the tourny so I'm pretty sure he's not "nerd shaming anyone" and I'm pretty sure he's not making some crusade against violators of common decency..... I'm pretty sure this guy was just like "lol look at all the butt cracks! lets take funny pictures of them!".

I enjoy this guy's sense of humor.

Man, what an ass. Has he no sense of decency to pull his humor out of the bottom of the barrel to cover up his shameful backsided comedy?

I'll stop now.

I personally refer to that specific type of stench as the smell of "Male hymen".

Really? What a bunch of try-hards, taking themselves way too seriously.

I didn't really think people would try to analyse what this guy was trying to mean when he did this. I just took it at face value and thought it was funny.

Is there really anything else to divulge from this?
