I'm not sure how this is impressive, by the sounds of it he could have just gone into the building next door and smashed down the wall with a large hammer purely due to the fact that doing the same at the front door would be visible from the street.

I'm trying to figure out how he got caught at all. Him not covering his face when he was caught on camera is the only thing I'm coming up with but even that is a bit iffy. He lived in the next town after all. As for management instructing employees not to talk, that's just a matter of waiting. Someone is going to say something about it.
