Amazing story about the little F2P, microtransaction title from SEA that could. Whether the numbers are dead on or not, still an amazing success story for Nexon.

I used to play that, nice game if you don't like too muich grinding, but don't mind some.

If that number also includes inactive acounts I bet there's less than a third of those accounts that's active. I made a Maple Story account once, played it for 15 minutes and never touched it again.

For good reason. Maplestory is kick ass....not that I do not play it as it is so life-consuming it must only be played month at a time followed by at least a 3 month break

Played it a few years back. Got sick of the repetitive quests and shoddy hit detection.

Well the game is the only one i have ever seen that has ever been different than WOW. It's 2-D the game play is more simpler the party quest can become quite addicting but you end up learning how to make you hand spaz out on the mouse so you can get it...or just use an auto clicker due to the point of the idiots not blocking it. I'm more of a FPS player but this is the only MMORPG to keep me in it for 2 years...quite surprising to me...But I'm really starting to get ticked at the Koreans and my own county. Koreans are advancing in just about every way and I've been seeing to many things about them about how they're passing all of us. Especially their games, all free to play just if you want the really addicting like nicotine like items that make you all cooler and make life easier in the game...

Also to add, if you play a private server they are really addicting, you level up faster there is more freedom and you can have all the classes in one after rebirthing...ah somethings just thinking about it makes me want to get back in...but they do crash allot so that just screws it up...

I still play this game to this date. It's still the same bloody mess since the beginning. Awful community, Unbalanced classes, leeching, and bugs and glitches up the ass that it's easily noticeable.

Not to mention awful grinding exp rate.

OT:
I still play, and I think a lot of things have changed since the olden days - leveling isn't as hard anymore as it used to be. It's worth trying out if you have nothing else to do. You just might get hooked.

I used to play the game when I was 12, good game, but in Israel,it was all the rage for 3 months and now people will beat you up if you say anything about it.

Oh no, not this game again. I played it for like a week, quit because of boredom. I guess I don't like that kind of grinding. That is a rather large number though.

I have a suspicion that the reason its so high is that, because its free, people dont bother to delete old accounts. So many of those accounts might be duplicates or simply not used anymore.
