Good for him. Now, Bethesda should grab him for ES5.

Still, my favorite VA ever is Jennifer Hale.

And quite frankly, I want to see him do more voice-acting in video games: he's got a brilliant range, unlike some other overrated voice actors [http://fanboyopolis.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/david_hayter.jpg].
I wouldn't say he's over rated, he is a good voice actor. Not the best, but is worthy of mention when you bring up good VAs.

To set the record straight, I don't think he's a bad voice actor, I just think he's undeserving of his cult following. [small]Also, he's got silly hair.[/small]

Jesus Mark Hamill looks old.
that was part of his issue after Star Wars, he had a bike accident before Return of the Jedi. also there was the stigma of him being Luke Skywalker

the cool part is he's a total comic book geek and would probly beat us at a comic book trivia game. the story goes he showed up to the set of the Flash tv show and told some of the producers what they should do with the characters, most of them had no clue about them.

Here's to another great Batman game. I hope they won't get too comfortable and give us something like what was done with L4D2.

Much as I love Cesar Romero's portrayal, Mark Hamill's laugh IS the Joker now.

But please, get Harley's original threads back. She's not a kevlar hooker.

Why? Simply because ANYONE can do the voice of Solid Snake. To be fair, Hayter's voice acting focuses more on believable projection rather than a large vocal range, but that still doesn't distract from the fact that there are probably hundreds of unknown voice actors who could have performed the role just as well as he did.

And did I mention that he has fucking stupid hair?

I used to watch the Animated series when I was little. Its good to see Mark getting his career back. (Also nerd point: The Dark Nights Joker is sightly based on the Joker of the Animated series)

Uh, mark hamill has been doing voice acting for years. He's done some robot chicken, some stuff in Avatar: TLA, Spiro, Futurama, Call of duty 2, family guy, Grandia Xtreme, Icewind dale, wing commander and a whole lot more. Just because he didn't launch out of star wars like harrison ford doesn't mean he's not a solid actor.

I'm going to split the difference. I enjoyed both Heath Ledger's and Mark Hamill's portrayals of the Joker, and both of them surprised me given my previous experiences with the actors. I'd love to see Mark keep it up- his vocal range and characterization ability is right up there with Stephen Russell [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Russell] in my book. Hell, those two could handle voicing the entire male cast of a AAA game by themselves.

However, if you want to settle the question of just who was the ultimate Joker... well....

He did awesome work in BatmanAA, then again I also enjoyed his work in the Wing Commander games (speaking of those games, I wish SpaceSims would come back... and the idea of live action games was interesting, pity it's dead).

I think the reason the Joker is considered the best villain in comic books is that he is purely batshit insane... not little bit wants to take over the world or wants to kill of huge chunks of the population insane... but tries to patent a smile on a fish insane. He can get away with doing anything because he's that freaking wacked. He's the perfect foil for batman, a man who embraces logic and reason in everything he does, because he is totally without any rational thought, you can't predict what he's going to do, even he doesn't really know.

He's also incredibly smart and ruthless, with his insanity it's a truly incredible combination.

Mark Hamill is the greatest-sounding Joker to date, which is why I was so happy when they announced him voicing for Arkham Asylum.

I wonder if Mr.Freeze and Clayface will star in the next game? If so, I hope they bring back the old voice actors for those guys: they did a heckuva job.
