The combat deinfitely is a more advanced version of God of War 4. Both games have the same combat design, and is especially noticable in Thor's combat. The game plays like a 20 million dollar brawler, and a better Ultimate Alliance in terms of combat. I still says UA3 still has the best art design of the recent Marvel games. As all of the characters look 100% accurate and colorful to their comic or animated counterparts. You can thank Team Ninja for that one. AWT still looks kinda bland art wise and graphic wise. Too generic and the characters still look like discount version of their actors. I am still game with trying it out.

Spider-Man is still more interesting though. I still have to play that. After we get to Miles, you think we can get to Spider-Gwen next? Or Spider-Ham. Or the dude from 2099.

If you haven't already seen this trailer version for the new Spider-Man game, check it out. Same footage, but different song, and holy shitballs does it work for me.

Never seen this version of the trailer, but I know about the user in particular. Awesome edit.

That is my main beef with the game. It's contrived, predictable, and unnecessary.
It is comics, but yeah. Its like starting the next DBZ game with "And for real Goku is dead and is not coming back this time"
We know how these stories go.
Cap was lost on an alien planet after an explosion, held hostage by the bad guys, brainwashed by the bad guys, faked his own death to go under cover, the timeline will be reset to before the game starts so Cap is still alive, etc etc...

OK, that does look pretty cool, and Kamala has been my favourite of the new-er Marvel comics for a while so it's cool to see her take such an important role in the story, the gameplay doesn't look like anything groundbreaking but as long as using every hero is fun I don't think that matters, I guess it's one game to keep an eye on.

Can we all just admit we know Captain America didn't really die in this universe? I mean its kinda stupid obvious
Well I mean, even if he really DID die...so? This is comic book reality. Death is less troublesome than catching a cold for characters. It's almost like a vacation for them. It doesn't exclude him from coming back later. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the "I think we can bring him back!" is the sequel bait stinger at the conclusion of the game. Then we'll have the next game have the subtitle of The Search for Cap! or something similar.

I love the concept of Kamala, I just hate her power set. I've never found the "I'm really stretchy" as a superpower all that impressive. Plus I always see it used so....uninspired? I mean, in my head, Kamala Khan should be a grappling/aikido/jujitsu monster, specializing in getting ridiculous leverage and grapples on her opponents, and just dominating them in melee combat. But ....no...they just make her have comically large fists and she boops them in the face. It just feels like untapped potential. I do however think that the earlier trailer, that showed her using her stretchy powers to parkour across rooftops was a step in the right direction. We'll see how far they go with her abilities.

It kind off is, the worst thing about her is that while she really works as a character, both her power-set and super-hero names aren't really good, like I get they were going for the internet fangirl thing but having her just be Ms. Marvel rather that her own thing was a huge missed opportunity,

That being said I think her having a goofy power-set was the right call, she's really goofy in general and giving her abilities that sometimes lead to Looney Tunes situations really fits her personality, so if I'm honest I don't mind all that much, though I do get it's not something most people would consider to be a cool power-set.

Eh, personally I don't mind the idea that she chose a name close to her icon Captain Marvel. It makes sense to me that a young woman like herself would do that, plenty of real world people do stuff like that to some degree or other, so it doesn't bug me really.

That being said I think her having a goofy power-set was the right call, she's really goofy in general and giving her abilities that sometimes lead to Looney Tunes situations really fits her personality, so if I'm honest I don't mind all that much, though I do get it's not something most people would consider to be a cool power-set.
Emphasis on sometimes. I'm all for that, but from the (admittedly small) amount of her content that I've seen, it's not a sometimes thing that they make her look comical in her power usage. That it's always like that. Her Big Fisting approach to combat is implied to be sort of her standard method of attack. Basically, I'd like to see them utilize her powers more like they did with Elastigirl, though way more grapply than punchy. Sure, have her do some comical stretchy stuff too, that's fine, I'm all for comedy in my comics. Just you know, not her default state being that.

I guess I just, one of my biggest issues with comics is the way some powers seem to be sort of secondary ideas to the devs, like how people always mock Jubilee for just "making lights and sounds with her hands" and I'm just thinking "I'm sorry but, sonic and light attacks are incredibly disabling, she's actually pretty fucking terrifying if , you know, somebody who was on the writing team actually utilized her powers well." It's like that one Nightcrawler scene in the opening of X-Men 2, where you realize "Oh shit, ok someone who can -just teleport- is actually pretty fucking terrifying when they are used properly" And I feel the same way about Kamala and her power set. I'd personally rather see her have something else, because I just don't like stretchy powers that much. But if she has to have them, at least make it really apparent that she can be incredibly dangerous with them. Have her train into it, with some grappling specialists or something, make it be a progression in her power advancement, not just "I'm able to get even bigger hands to fist you with."

Anyway, rant over. I'm psyched to play the game, especially Kamala. I hope they make her feel like the badass I think she is, when I'm playing her. But we'll see.

Sidenote: They gave Banner a beard in the scene where Kamala is first talking to him, when in the previous trailer he didn't have a beard. The first choice was better. He looks really dumb with that Beard of Sorrow.

The God of War combat lead is working on this one last I heard.

Wonder how the next GoW will be iterated on after this.

I bet the combat designer had something to do with that since he worked on.....

During the reveal, they said something about "some gears and emotes only available on online store"

I am PRAYING we will not see Thor doing floss dance, or any of the characters doing the dances from Fortnite

Well he was playing Fortnite in Endgame. That sounds like something goofy and memeable and related a massive corporate committee would think humanizes their generic stock superhero
