Any smart gamer has a PS3 and a gaming PC anyway, with that combo there is no reason to have a 360. Also ME2 was no where near as good as ME
I second that! PS3 + PC = most games.

I notice that there is actually more PS3 owners in this thread bragging to 360s than the other way around. By agitating them, you yours.. ah fuck it, whats the point.

I am happy PS3 owners get to play the game, now my friend can play it too. I hope their exclusive content is an abridged version of ME1, so that they can play out the major actions of the game to customize their story a bit more.

Also, 'going down in flames'? Really? The Dreamcast went down in flames. The original Xbox was unsucessful. A console does not get 4-5 years into it's lifecycle and then crash and burn because of one swapped exclusive.
No, it crashes and burns because (a) it's remaining exclusives are no great shakes, (b) it's online service is sticking with an uncompetitive business model, and (c) it is based around a proprietary data storage format that tanked, while its competitor is based around one that has grown leaps and bounds in popularity over the past half-decade. So yeah.

They should release Mass Effect 1 with it, because if you've never played the first one the little overview they do in Mass Effect 2 does it no justice.

Awesome, more people need to play Mass Effect. I am curious as to what the "bonus content" is, but I'm going to continue playing the series on PC anyways.

I believe, as some have stated, that Microsoft owns the publishing rights to Mass Effect, whereas EA have the rights to the second (and presumably third).

This whole thing seems like a cash grab by EA rather than a "let's bring the love to the PS3 owners" because ME2 without the original is like frosting without the cake.

That is awesome news. Except my bum is feeling a little sore right about now. I mean 360 owners made Bioware how much from the series. And they turn around and give the new guys a bunch of new content? That sucks Bioware. That is a kick square in the nuts. Glad to see loyalty means so much these days.

It makes me happy that I'll finally get to share ME2 with my friends, and won't just resort to telling them how awesome the game they don't have the hardware to play actually is. I just hope that this mysterious 'bonus content' comes the PC and 360 way too, because otherwise I'll be bummed to have missed out on yet another bit of gaming goodness by acting too soon.

Seriously, GOTY editions bother me, because it punishes me for buying the game on day one, and incentivizes holding out for a price drop and bonus stuff... but I'm ranting and getting off topic. ME2 on PS3 is fantastic news, and I'll tell my friends now so that they'll be ready on release.

What I want to know is, what version of the story will they get? Since ME1 doesn't seem to be on the schedule, are they stuck with the universe sucks and Shepard was a total dick ending? Or do they get an option in that regard?

If that's the case, 360 owners really should get that option too. It irritated me that I had to replay ME1 (which kinda sucked) since I filled my original 20 gig hard drive. Data transfer with a usb drive is finicky at best.

I have a ps3, but I won't rebuy it for that option. That controller isn't built for shooters.

You two ought to be ashamed of yourselves. PS3 owners finally get to play the game, which I am pretty sure is only being released on the PS3 because Dragon Age was and that game quickly outsold everything else Bioware ever made because unlike Mass Effect 1 or 2 it was released on the PS3. Don't begrudge a company for making a sound business decision, especially if your only motive is childish console grief.

By the by, I own the PC versions. This console pawing and slapping comes off as nothing more than baby babble to me.

You PS3 fanboys too, hush. Stop being so cocky, your console and its game library was hardly worth the cost of investing in a PS3 until only a few years ago.

Good news. Hope it looks pretty(er) on PS3, and not uglier as a lot of ports do.

I mean Dragon Age looks horrible on the 360, and I regret not getting the PS3 one... only reason I got the 360 one was because you then get the unlock in ME2...

This does make sense. The more console's a game comes out on, the more money you will make. but could PS3 and Xbox make a swap? I wouldn't mind Heavy rain or MGS3 as a trade?
