Pity I don't own a PS3, it would've been an awesome birthday present from me to me.
In other news, great for all sony- guys & gals out there but as many has said, half of the Mass Effect experience is the possibilty to take your character from ME1 and use it through the whole trilogy.

Very nice to hear.
A faulty Xbox and a PC that wasn't quite up to snuff is what kept me out of experiencing Mass Effect 2 to begin with, so I'm glad I can finally rectify that.

To be honest, I'm happy enough to be playing it, as it was one of the games I desperately wanted to try but wasn't able to back when it first came out. It would be nice to get the first, but as it stands, that's merely a bonus for me, and hey, beggars can't be choosers.Psychosocial said:

ME is a series I'm pretty sure I would like but I don't know all that much about it... I doubt I'll get it straight away but I can see me getting it at some stage, especially if those "extras" are the previous DLC.
What about MassEffect 1 ? isn't stupid that you lose 50% interest by not having the savegame of n°1 ported on the 2nd ?

Geez, I'm never gonna convince the friend of mine I've been pestering to play this series for the better part of a year to actually get it.. first no PS3 version, and now no PS3 version of the first game (we're both continuity nuts, it's rare to never we deign to pick up a series in the middle).
I understand why they wouldn't want to put Mass Effect on the PS3, though... even if it is a bloody shame. Even playing it, you can see there are some.. iffy things with how it was put together. Nothing horrific, but occasional little 'bumps in the road' where the game glitches out and does something survivable, but seriously weird, that hint at game coding that'd be a living hell to console-port.
Not that they don't have the money to get it done, I bet >.>; Oh well, maybe if the PS3 port of ME2 does Really well.. or at the least if the PS3 port of ME2, and then the PS3 release of the final part of the trilogy do nicely..
Still, I'd be a bit 'bleh' about only getting to play from ME2, though, what with that meaning you have to start from the True Renegade ME1 ending for what I understand, if you don't load up a previous save.

I think that the only companies that should be making exclusive games are 2nd Party Devs like Naughty Dog, or Lionhead. Other than that most 3rd party companies that make exclusive games lose to much of a chance on extra money for it to be feasible anymore.
