This is why I'm also afraid of Dragon Age 2. The limited choices in that game weren't that bad (except being forced to replay the mage origin story EVERY time I played a Mage), having to play a set character will kill a lot of the choice in game.

Cool, they need to release the first one too, otherwise the PS3 owners can't choose their stories

Will it work? I mean there was a LOT of story in Mass Effect, I almost feel sorry for PS3 owners. Not being able to have the full story...

You guys might want to look into the implications (i.e. our decisions in ME1 mean nothing in ME3).
Hmm, if that is the case then some of the decisions from ME1 that they hinted at would have major consequences in ME3 must have been marginalized to say the least.

The rachni queen comes to mind. The conversation in ME2 eluded to them standing by Shepard's side when the Reaper invasion comes. If they decide that my choice pf letting her live only results in a conversation with a semi possessed asari, then I really will be mighty pissed.

Preciously. And the infamous Virmire decision. We will likely lose those 2 characters completely from ME3 on all platforms.

Also ME2 was no where near as good as ME
Exactly. ME2 was a generic cover shooter compared to ME1. Let's just hope BioWare returns to the roots of the saga with ME3.

I am happy Mass Effect 2 is coming to the PS3. This way Bioware will be able to get other people hooked on how great Mass Effect 2 is. I hope Mass Effect 1 comes to the PS3 as well.
That's not even legally possible. While EA may own Bio Ware and Mass Effect is Bio Ware Intellectual Property, the first game was published by Microsoft not EA so legally they have the publishing rights to the game and Microsoft, I doubt, would let EA give it over to PS3 as well.

Hm...I'm a bit confused by this. Why release Mass Effect 2 only? While I have a PS3, I don't think I'll pick this up. Not unless there's some way to change the story. If I recall correctly, not importing a saved character into ME2 causes the Humans to be in charge of the galaxy and Wrex being dead,as this is the default storyline in the 360 version. My Shepherd never let those things happen, so...Also, there are all those choice you make in Mass Effect that will have a huge effect in Mass Effect 3 (ones that I think decide whether you live or die at the end), so how are we dealing with that?a

Until they fix this, I will be staying with my 360 version.

That would be a kick in the teeth since they hinted at that if you screwed either of them and then remained faithful to them throughout ME2, you would get some kind of reward. Never thought I would suspect Bioware of "lazy" development, if you can call it that at this point.

Not being one to bust peoples bubbles here but isnt there a bit of history between the "MS to Sony" series crossovers?

I seem to remember Xbox owners all in a happy mood because they had SplinterCell............Then they moved them to Sony with extra missions and what-not.

Then Xbox was over the moon that they were getting the GTA series...with....wait for it....NO EXTRAS WHATSOEVER!.

Ah, also the Ninja Gaiden series...The 2 PS3 ports are a hell of a lot better than the Xbox and 360 versions respectively

Basically what Im saying is the PS3 flamers in here can go suck an egg as theres a history of Sony getting better versions of games that have been "360 Exclusive" or "Xbox Original Exclusive"
*cough* Bioshock *cough* *cough*

So basically PS3 owns the 360 in al shapes and forms. mass Effect was the only game that wasn't a generic shooter and now that its coming to PS3 the only thing we're mssing is Fable...

I hope they don't bring that shit to.
Well you certainly don't sound like someone who has questionable white stains all over their PS3's disc drawer.

I loved mass effect 2 for the 360. Can't wait for my 360 deprived friends to boot up their

copy of ME2 and import their saved character from mass effect 1 to customize their individual

experiences and make the entire game that much more meaningful... oh wait, they can't do that

cause mass effect 1 wasn't on the ps3! HA! Have fun playing half a game while EA sells out

Bioware to become a multi-platform developer.

Anywho back on topic. Yeah this as been the rage over at gamespot. I can see a whole large amount of Console flaming from fanboys happening but well I guess they'll always be arguing.
I'm personally happy for PS3 only owners. Doesn't really affect me as I already own the game for the 360.

I know a lot are crying about the whole "Your releasing MS2 but not MS1 you suck E.A" well the reason behind this is that Microsoft owns the publishing rights so E.A doesn't have the right to release it for the PS3. As for the PS3 DLC. I'm assuming for the moment that this may be a way of bridging MS1 to MS2 to keep the new players in the loop... Though I'm just speculating.

Hopefully February of next year after Mass Effect has sold millions on PS3, EA will have a press conference saying "After the huge success of Mass Effect 2, EA has decided to acquire Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, and Polyphony Digital. After this monumental purchase fanboys can pull their heads out of their asses and truly celebrate the meaning of Christm....I mean gaming."

Good. Everyone should be able to play a great game like this. I'm not going to repurchase on my PS3 (already have the collectors edition on my 360) but its good to know that there will be a lot more Mass Effect fans soon.
