Hehe...they got it late.

I don't really care about the "pride" of having the game first on the 360. Although, depending on the bonus content, i may be slightly disappointed.

Good, console exclusives are stupid IMO. I've already beaten ME2 on the PC though, so I know really need this, but it's good to know.

Well this was... unexpected. I own the game for PC. I can only hope that the sales will be strong enough to encourage other ports, and hopefully make this a 2-way traffic as well.
Hopefully but I don't think Sony will let their exclusive publishers go multiplatform

It is great how Mass Effect is getting an even larger audience. Mass Effect 2 is such a great game that should not be kept from the PS3 players.

Dammit, that was the only reason to be happy that I have a 360. Every game I have can be bought for the PS3, and that system has a free online service.

They can't they don't own the publishing rights to M.E 1. Microsoft owns it.

PS3 owners can have Mass Effect 2 but on one condition. Give Xbox 360 owners inFamous, God OF War 3, Little Big Planet 3, or Uncharted 2.

Then this is stupid. It's an RPG where story is a big part and Playstation owners miss the first half? Better than nothing, I suppose. I'll see if I can coax ME1 to work on my PC.

What's the point of bringing 2 over to the PS3 if they're not also porting the first one?

If I remember, Mass Effect is a very story driven game and it doesn't make sense if you haven't played the first one.

Ahh... Bonus content! EAT THAT MS FANBOYS!
Ugh... I feel dirty.

Yeah that's nice and all, but what took them so long. I mean, did anyone really want DA:O for the ps3 over this?

I think its great that people that don't own both consoles can now enjoy the Mass Effect series, seriously one of the greatest experiences I've had in gaming.

Only makes sense seeing as how Dragon Age outsold ME2 pretty much only because it was available on ps3, 360, and pc. While I will be upset if they have (meaningful) bonus content not available to 360 owners, this is a no-brainer business move on EA and Bioware's part...

Wowzers. One less arrow in Microsoft's quiver as a result of this; even less exclusive product than before. That's going to hurt them in the long run, given they've already lost Bungie and Valve... for their sake, Kinect better REALLY bring in the big bucks. They're starting to have little else to make them worthwhile in comparison.

PS3 fanboys can grin all they like but the fact of the matter is the lack of imported save files undermines the experience of the second by... well, A LOT since the beauty part about the series is the knowledge about the setting and actually caring about the characters.

BTW the bonus content is just the DLC for the PC and 360 lumped in the retail copy. At best the PS3 would get a piece of armor but nothing proper.

Why on earth would I be sore about people with PS3s being able to play Mass Effect 2 on them now? The more the merrier! For those who love games, platform exclusives are only a good thing if you're
  • A) Employed by the company that makes that platform, in which case your opinion does not count because you're biased as hell, or

    B) A fanboy of [insert console here], in which case you are stupid (also your opinion does not count, see point A).

Or in other words, platform exclusives are never actually a good thing unless you have a personal stake in the platform they're being confined to by exclusivity, whether through employment or because you're demented.

So no, I'm not sore about it, and neither are any entirely rational non-Microsoft employees. I will however be quite sore if it turns out this "bonus content" is something new and not just DLC that's already come out, and that the content in turn is platform exclusive to the PS3, as I bloody hate exclusivity precisely because of shit like that[footnote]Well exclusive content and the fact that, depending on which platforms a title is 'exclusive' to, I simply can't play them even though I'd happily pay money to do so if the option existed.[/footnote]. I'm cool with 'rewarding' patient PS3 owners in some way, just don't be giving them stuff that I can't get myself.

Stupid or not, they don't have a choice in the matter. Would be illegal for them to release it for the PS3 as they don't own the rights to do so. But as you said... Better than nothing.
