I've done two playthroughs of ME3. I was friendly enough to her both times to the point where the option to "save" her was available but I chose correctly the second time.

It's worth it to save her if only to not see a former crew mate die needlessly and gain the war assets she gives you. But apart of that, it's not like there's much interaction with her following her survival of the Citadel events.

You had to have dinner with her in ME2 and when the option comes up to tell her to change her identity, tell her to do it. That is the only way for her to live.

Yea, I had the dinner. I just need to stop kneejerking the paragon options.

Maybe my next playthrough I will choose what I think this version of my character would say, rather than just grinding paragon points.
I still don't know how the Rep system works in ME3. With it fully maxed out on either side, I still can't do the last two persuasion options at the end with the Illusive Man.

So, whatever.

NO! You are not too late. I got to that part and found out that she died. I immediately restarted my entire game in order to prevent that from happening.
Wow, thats some dedication to a fictional character. I mean, I was gutted when I found out she had died, it really bummed me out for a little while. But not once did I think about restarting the game to save her (I will next time) and I'm one of the people who reloaded his last save over and over again to save Malik in Deus Ex:HR.
Because Kelly is sweet, nice, hot, and has red hair. Enough said. Stripper outfit was just a bonus.
But yeah, I did the same thing with Malik in Deus Ex. Throw in the fact that I was trying to do the run where you don't kill ANYONE, and oh my...the rage from that one section of gameplay. Still, managed to do it. On my second run, it was much easier to save her when I didn't have to worry about the kill count.

From what I remember you'll need to do the "romance" option with her in the 2nd game then when you talk to her in 3 pick one of the renegade responses that tells her not to take chances. The other choice is for her to dedicate her time to the refugees instead. I hope this helps.
So I'm already too late.
Eh, maybe next playthrough.
NO! You are not too late. I got to that part and found out that she died. I immediately restarted my entire game in order to prevent that from happening.
What you do is, when you go talk to Kelly, be nice to her. Tell her you understand why she did what she did. Eventually, she'll bring up the fact that Cerberus is tracking down people who left them. When this happens, pick the bottom option, telling her to change her identity. You may have to talk to her more than once, I but I know it's there and I've only had one of my three characters 'romance' her. That would be an insane requirement. Shepard will only bother to save you if she romanced you? No way, Shepard saves everyone (well, mine does anyway), whether they were a hot stripper outfit or not.
Anyway, after you tell her to change ID, she'll vanish for a while, then show up again as a blonde. That's how you save her, because when the coup happens, she looks different and has different papers so they don't know it's her.

I was so upset when I found out she wasn't returning to my crew. I liked her a lot more than Traynor. Plus, could you imagine the fun Traynor and her could have?
Haha, in Mass Effect 2 after she and the rest of the crew get kidnapped I did the same thing... well I didn't restart my whole game but I went back considerable hours just to make sure that I saved her.
Me too. Ended up going all the way back to before I even entered the derelict Reaper and made sure that I got everything else done first. Watching her die in that tube was too much for me to take, so I made sure it never happened again.

That final conversation isn't necessarily related to your reputation alone - apparently it's linked to the previous conversations you've had with the Illusive Man.

From the Wiki:

"In order to use the final Paragon/Renegade conversational options with the Illusive Man, you must have used Paragon/Renegade options on him at every other opportunity in the campaign, namely the meetings on Mars, Thessia and the Cerberus base. Be aware that some of these options only become available through using Investigate branches of the conversation, yet they must ALL be used to get the final conversation options with the Illusive Man."

Kinda like some of the other spots in the game (the geth/quarian resolution, for example) that are based on your actions, not solely on your reputation.

I didn't even notice her in ME3. Oh well, she's not really essential to the plot, is she?
She didn't show up for me either.

Apparently because I didn't let her feed my fish. [/innuendo]

The option to have her get a new identity is when you first find her on the Citadel, not sure if that's how you save her though.
It is, in fact, how you save her.

You know, it's funny. Playing ME3 for a couple days and not checking up on this thread - I happened across this anyway. After dozens upon dozens of playthroughs on every conceivable version of Shephard I have in my head (I like seeing everything this series has to offer) - I finally got this damn encounter.

It's like screaming "Goddamn I can't find my cellphone!" And then finding it in the next room you walk in. And feeling like a moron afterward.

Go figure.
