hi all,
Can i import a save file for Mass Effect Digital download(PS3) to a hard copy of Mass Effect 2 PS3 and not have Mass Effect:Genesis start up? I'm asking because my hard copy of Mass Effect 2 PS3 seems to have Genesis on-disc instead of been a optional download.

Well I have both digital downloads for both games (On PC) and even when I properly transfer the saves I get the Genesis comic. I did some pocking around for you on PS3 websites, and found that if you patch the games (or at least this seems to be the issue) then the transfer works. i think I'm aloud to paste links to other websites so here is the discussion the boys and girls had on GameFAQs.

You could also try completely uninstalling ME2 and it's components then re-installing it and watching to see if genesis downloads as well. From what the wiki says it is available for free on PS3 and their may have been an option to download it and you absentmindedly hit yes, I do this all the time, so no worries. I couldn't find anything about it being a pre-installed DLC on a disk though so that seems a little weird. I wish you luck Sniper!

ME2 should give you a couple options when you select New Game. If it detects save data from ME1, then you can import that in, and it will skip Genesis.

I only have ME1 and ME2 as downloads on my ps3, so I dont know if having the disks changes anything, but I know that you can import saves with no trouble in that instance.

My only complaint is that ME1's custom Shepard models dont look that great once they're brought into the newer games. If there was some kind if way to copy my ME2 Shepard into ME1, then I'd be very happy.
