The last couple of days I've been completely engrossed in Mass Effect (the first one, that is) and I've hit the point where I'm about to go to Ilos. Now, there's a lot of side-quest I haven't done yet and while I'm still able do adventure through space, I no longer have the ability to return to The Citadel which renders me unable to complete a couple.

What I'm wondering is if it's worth reverting to a past save, losing hours of gameplay in the process, to finish these up before the end?

For achievements, yes.

For carried-over information into ME2 and further ME3, depends entirely on WHAT sidequests.

Playing on PC, so achivements are not an issue. They still exist, but I don't really care.

My dilemma is, with how invested I've gotten in the game, I would like to have seen everything before moving on to ME2.

Do you have a save that reverts you back to when the Normandy was still on the Citadel? You will be able to finish up a number of quests there in the time that it's in lockdown.

I got saves from pretty much any point in the game. The problem is I'd like to finish up every side-quest, and there's no way of doing so at the point I'm at. I think I'll revert pre the last of the four major objectives (Noveria, in my case) and just replay it.

Well, it depends on how devoted to the one individual save file you are. If you plan on making more save files to piggyback over, then I'd say don't worry about it, but if you're really into that one, then I would probably do it over.

Great game, though.

just finish then play again with your already lvled guy (thats how i got my sheperd to max lvl:) and just do all the side quests cause truthfully it takes forever to do all the side quests and im not sure its worth the time if youve already play so far in.

BTW: just woundering who did you chose for your love intrest?

Heh, same thing happened to me. I reverted a save to before I finished Feros, at least I think it was Feros.. And completed all the side quests. Didn't regret it, as some of them will pop up in ME2. I say.. Do it! 8D

I say finish the playthrough that you're on now. I played my first game blind, just did what I felt like. My second playthrough was the "complete" one.

Liara. Not a fan of Ash.
lol my first play through i chose ash cause she had more personality. Now i did go back and romance liara but that has more to do with the sequel and i dont want to spoil that for you:)
