Mature content manga removal

Claiming that Google is sponsoring child pornography by advertising on manga hosting sites almost all mature content has been removed from manga hosting sites Mangafox and Onemanga Regardless of content.

Now as you can probably tell from my angry tone of voice that this pisses me off somewhat and I for one won't put up with being told what I should and shouldn't read I have signed the following petition to put a stop to this shit and if you believe in freedom of expression and the right of an adult to choose what they do or do not read please please sign this petition to have Google change it's policy to allow for advertisements on sites that host mature content if it is labeled as such please sign or at least read it and see if you agree.

OT, well I think that last sentence probably can tell you which side I'm on on this discussion...

I really don't understand why those certain manga/anime series' are illegal. It doesn't promote child abuse and no children are harmed.

That one comment from Gillette (I think) on that page pissed me off though.

This isn't family friendly viewing. It's not even meant for kids you stupid ****. It's made by adults for adults.

So the gist of it is that Manga site that host mature (Including loli/shota) content are no longer allowed to advertise themselves via adsense because of Google's TOS stating that Ads can't link to porn? Is that about right? I think you are overreacting, or have misread the article.

That's the point. It was being advertised on their site because of Google adsense. If it's made "By adults, for adults" then it shouldn't be in adsense.

I understand that, but I just think it's funny how people get so up in arms over this shit.

It's just a cartoon. No need to get all pissed off when it shows what goes against your morals.

Besides, if you don't want that as an ad on your site, take it up with the people who put up the ad rather than the content in question.

Well manga isn't a thing most western children read IMO.

I can't say exactly what has been taken down but most anything with a mature label a few series I know for certain have been taken down are:

Elfen Lied
And any number of others that I don't know by name

Glad I read it while I had a chance.

Actually the manga hosting site are effectivly being forced to remove their mature content.

Eh, Google has a clear set of rules in place for adsense. You break the rules, they threaten you with removal of their sponsorship. While the parent companies of Mangafox etc are overreacting by removing everything that may possibly breach the terms of service, they have to do it to keep the websites running.

Nowhere sells it round here besides a number of the series I mentioned either just don't get translated or got badly censored/cancelled,
not to metion he uses scantlators anyway.

On topic: By using adsense you increase your site traffic. Google has rules in place so they aren't linked with content of an adult nature. It's their right to do so as they're techonology has a huge impact on how many people see your site, thereby increasing ad revenue generation as well.

You follow their rules, you win. You don't, than they tell you to fuck right off.
