iv heard that quebec is to canada what wales is to britain.

Im always wondering how true it is.
Quebec's population have a reputation for major assholerey. At least the french portion do. They're constantly pushing for French language rights because they're a threatened minority culture, completely ignoring the First Nations which are completely marginalized up here. Further, Quebec has a series of preposterous language laws designed to isolate anyone who only speaks English in the province. Namely, the stuff Waaghpowa already mentioned. They also have the Bloq Quebecois, a provincial and federal political party which is continually trying to get elected on a platform that consists entirely of "Quebec should totally separate from Canada," except they want so many economic benefits from the Canadian government once separate because Quebec cannot support itself as a country.

Also, everyone west of, say, Manitoba would not hesitate to kick the crap out of the province. Because we hate them.

So, if Wales is hated by Britain for being obnoxious and entitled, then it's perfectly true.

I bet the mayor's gift to his ex-wife really bould'er over.

How did this guy become a mayor???
It's Quebec, you'd understand if you were Canadian.

Culturally, Quebec is really different. An example would be how it's Provincial law to have ALL SIGNS in French first then English second in smaller font. Not to mention that whole separation thing.
Actually the law does not specifically target English, it target sign with any other language then French present.

jesus the amount of puns you can make off this incident is ridiculous.

OT: This is awesome, Fuck off if you think he should get criminal charges, the most our mayor does is piss people off by bringing in lots of revenue.

What would you charge him with? Giving an unwanted gift isn't exactly illegal...
Yeah but dumping a 20-ton boulder on someone's lawn, ruining it and making them look like idiots is. It'd probably be labeled under criminal mischief or something similar.
I don't know, I've seen rock gardens, rock art(not sculptures, just flat rocks piled in interesting ways) and landscaping with a focus on large rocks for aesthetic appeal. I'd need a picture of it to see if it looked good there(and if it's colour was nice and if it was cleaned beforehand).

I think I could make it work in my yard, although the one in the pic above is a little ridiculous in size.
The link is presented in OT. I gotta tell you, it's nothing glamorous like the pic you showed me.
... I feel silly now. Lack of "research"(one click) on my part.

The rock being on the driveway (and not the lawn as I thought) makes a huge difference though.

If there were more trees/greenery around there(and the writing/bow were removed, obviously) it could still work.

There's no denying the malicious intent from the mayor though.

I'm just talking about rock aesthetics because I like the use of large boulders in landscaping.

Looks like he:

Rocked her world.

If someone could put in the link for the Yeeeaaah website then they can wear my Hat for five minutes. Still got to figure that one out. Anyway this awesome, funny and slightly mad at the same time. Wonder if Boris Johnson would do something like this.

still pretty cool I suppose. Though how you dont hear something like that in the middle of the night I dont know. Large machinery usually makes a lot of noise.

At first the mayor steadfastly refused to remove the rock, but he eventually caved (hoho) to pressure from the police and had his excavation company transport the offending boulder back across town. It is not yet clear whether the mayor will face criminal charges.
Mayor pressured by police to get his rocks off... his ex-wife's lawn.

But the guy does, in fact, have massive stones to pull a stunt like this. I couldn't think of a boulder way to express your hatred, even if it means he's in for a rocky re-election campaign. He may be able to cobble together some kind of comeback, but he certainly can't take anything for granite at this point.

God, I feel dirty.

I love the accuracy of the boulder measurements in this article.
"...deposit a huge-ass rock on his ex-wife's front lawn."
Huge-ass= one metric fuckton.
NO! Huge ass is a shit load, not a fuckton, a fuck ton pertains to any large amount of a substance that is beyond belief, example:
"Rex glanced up at the asteriod that was about to hit the earth and said to Marty, "That is some fuckton of Asteroid headed our way. We really should have worked on our space program." And that was the end of the age of the dinosaurs."

She promptly contacted the police.
I'm surprised the police didn't already know.

Seriously, somebody had to have noticed the mayor scheming something with Boulder Deliverers' Inc.

How many punny comments can we post?

"They always said he didn't have the stones for this..."

"It seems their relationship is on the rocks."

"This should get him on the cover of the Rolling Stones."

"The mayor's a bit hard-headed."

I'm going to punch myself for a little bit. I apologize for the cheesiness of this post.
