Ok so this is something I've kept thinking about again and again and coming back to the idea of.

It's the idea of a piece of media doing something interesting or having potential that just sort of was a one and done thing but the ideas and world and everything about it you feel is far better and has far more potential than what actually came out related to it.

I've give you the example that spawned this idea.

The game Death Crown on Steam

The game is fine enough a minimalist RTS that's quite simplified.

The concept and ideas though it's brilliant, just the idea in it and how fun even like an animated show based on it would be.

The lore / story of he game

Death stalks the land and the army of the dead ravages the land, a hero rises from this to lead the people to fight the corrupted land and army of the dead, eventually the hero becomes kind of the people and as he grows old he becomes determined and somewhat warped that he decides he will fight the natural order and that means preventing death. He sets a trap and as the daughter of death comes to take him springs it using ancient relics and arcane power to take down deaths daughter stealing most of her power for his own. Deaths daughter vows revenge and will return the natural order using what power she has left to fight back raising her own army and taking down the mages and artefacts the king harnesses to use against her finally allowing her to come and take the kind.

That's like 3 pre-written seasons right there.
Season 1 the hero rises to defeat evil ending with him crowned king
Season 2 shows the kings descent into madness and determination to fight and defeat death itself ending with the powering down of death's daugther
Season 3 being about death's daughter fighting to reclaim her power and restore the natural order of things.

It would be almost perfect for another networks own Game of Thrones esc show just with more zombie / undead stuff and more almost stranger things esc weird and wonderful landscape elements and stuff.

So over to you what media property do you wish to see become a bigger thing such that it's more of an IP / franchise than a single one off piece of media set in that world?

The anime Sound of the Sky (Sora no woto) I felt had potential for more by its final episode.

The setting is after a war that left the world at a ceasefire and some unspoken weapon of mass destruction has left most of the world inhospitable. It did a good job in revealing details on the margins of the story, of letting visuals reveal details and leaving a lot to the imagination. The series proper is about five girls at a military outpost where nothing happens basically, meaning it's mostly a slice of life story, only with the prospect of war breaking out again becoming more present in the last episodes.

After the climax of the story, peace is seemingly achieved, and there was an extra OVA where there was talk of exploring the seemingly inhospitable world via airship. That was a story I'd like to see, though by turning it from a slice of life where the characters knows more than the viewer into one of exploration of unknown lands where the characters and the viewers are on equal footing it would probably fundamentally change genre. In particular because the central characters felt rather one-dimensional and created via archetype.

I'd kind of like someone to get some money and give Gerry Anderson's New Captain Scarlet another go-over. It had an amazingly solid aesthetic - an Anderson staple - coupled with a really cool and diverse cast of characters and Captain Black was a charismatic and fun 'face' villain while the Mysterons provide the paranoia and war of nerves.

However the show did have issues. The Angels, SPECTRUM's all female fighter pilot squadron got kind of short shifted unless they were Destiny and she could be difficult to take in large doses. Also all the Angels had just, the prissiest running animation I've ever seen. The animation, while visually very colourful and distinct could be a little weightless at times, especially during fight scenes. It also left hanging a really interesting plot thread of there being dissent among the Mysterons about the War of Nerves.
