I remember playing this a lot as a child. I will definitely pick this up when my gaming pc is fixed.
If they're going to go to all the trouble of doing this, why go with such crappy low resolution? This is a PC-exclusive (for the moment at least) remastering of a PC exclusive game. Why do we constantly have to get stuck with TV resolutions when even many console ports do better than that?Steven Bogos said:Microsoft says that the HD edition has been completely remastered for 1080p displays
Right at the end of the video at the top it shows a load of monks healing a cobra car, so I'm guessing that there will be cheats.knight4light said:Ikr. bring back the good old days of cheats. none of this achievement bs.TopazFusion said:That's a good point actually. I wonder if cheats will still work in it.knight4light said:rock on to robin hood at lumberjack cheese steak jimmy's. wait.. Because, you know, games tend not to have cheats nowadays.
On the steam page it costs 19?, so some bad news for you i guess.Carnagath said:If this launches at anything more than 15$, they can go away and leave me alone.
The term (1080p) usually assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, implying a resolution of 1920×1080. What's your PC monitor's resolution? If it's 1920x1080 then it is essentially a "1080p display". Sorry, it's kind of an industry buzzword.Kahani said:On the one hand, awesome. On the other hand:

Yeah, I just noticed. That's too much, not gonna be paying about half of what I paid for Heart of the Swarm for a 15 year old game that I already own twice. Gonna wait for a sale.cahtush said:On the steam page it costs 19?, so some bad news for you i guess.Carnagath said:If this launches at anything more than 15$, they can go away and leave me alone.

The same happened to me. I lost my old cds and couldn't find a way to buy it anymore.caselj01 said:Yeah, pretty much going to buy this right fucking now. I actually tried to buy the original AoE2 recently and I don't think its even available any more.

Last time I intalled it, though, there were several graphic glitches (grass turned red, sea turned purple).
As soon as i started reading that, all of my memories came back.knight4light said:rock on to robin hood at lumberjack cheese steak jimmy's. wait.. I miss being able to cheat in games, so bad. Some of the happiest gaming moments of my childhood involved slapping on the photonman. Or likewise, turning on avatar mode on Rainbow Six, casually ignoring the terrorists panicky gunfire like I'm the goddamn terminator.knight4light said:bring back the good old days of cheats. none of this achievement bs.
