Microsoft Shares Ad Revenue with Casual Game Developers
Microsoft Casual Games branch shares ad revenue with game developers.
Microsoft Casual Games, the game division responsible for MSN Games, announced plans to share ad revenue with the developers of web based games for Microsoft's MSN service. Studios can receive up to 20 percent of advertising dollars earned from their games. Advertisements may be placed in banners around the game window, in the games, or served as loading screens.
The Ad-Share Program allows developers to participate on two levels. Level 1 offers the studio 10 percent of the ad revenue without much change to their content. To earn all 20 percent, content creators must get their games rated by the ESRB, address localization issues and create a 10-hour game experience.
