Total sales are around 7.8 million for stalker. Half of those are from eastern Europe, and THATS A LOT as MOST PC GAMERS HERE are fucking PIRATES.
So yeah, thats mega impressive.
Ha I'm reminded of an article that placed Bulgarias piracy rate at approximately 100% for music and film.

If all they can bring to the table is a flight sim and Fable 3, I'll pass.

I don't want anything else from Microsoft than platform which to install games.

I was on another forum discussing Dawn of War 2 and it's steam/Gfwl clusterfuck. The new expansion is clearing this issue by...

You guessed it, bumping Gfwl. It simply does not provide anything that Steam can't and it does it badly anyway. The general consensus is distaste, bar a few XBL gamers who see it as an extension of their system (as opposed to a seperate entity) and judge it on the merits of XBL as a whole.

While I'm at it, Microsoft thinks they are to be seen as the leader in PC gaming? I'm sorry to burst your bubble Bill, but Valve has beaten you to that over the last 10 years.

I have no faith in Mircrosoft... I don't expect to see anything they promise.
valve, THQ, some other for that matter...

If a game says, for Windows live on it, i dont buy it even if it looks like it is made of gold and your eyeballs will fall out off your skull in pure awesomeness..

Bring Halo 3 and Reach to the PC (and have Gearbox do it. They did an excellent job on Halo CE). Bring Gears 2. bring Fable 2. Make GFWL suck a thousand times less (JUST COPY STEAM! IT ISN'T HARD, DAMMIT!) Start making *gasp* NEW IP'S FOR THE PC. how about that, huh? Maybe instead of a couple niche games and a port, you could, you know, think up a few more game ideas.

Do all of the above, and I just may partially believe you, kinda sorta maybe.

I actually passed up Bioshock 2 for like $10 due to GFWL. If I need to create a new account and login just to save my game (even offline mode) then it's an automatic pass for me.

It's nice and all that MS is prioritizing PC gaming..but the thing is that no one likes GfWL. It's a known and established fact. Unless of course MS makes another product called say, Games for You. Then maybe it will sell. That too if Steam doesn't hold a sale.

So... are they going to port the rest of the Halo and Gears of War games to PC then claim that they are the leaders or what?

If they are leading, then I think they are going down the wrong path.

GfWL? Doesn't particularly bother me, but it hasn't caused me any issues and I don't purchase games through it. Matter of fact the only thing I have used it for was the Bioshock DLC since they weren't available through Steam.

MS is in a poor position with a service which so far has consistently failed to deliver as promised for most. Steam has done everything MS could have ever wanted GfWL to do, except Valve got it right. Personally I think would rather see MS drop the GfWL platform and work with Valve to put Steam into its place, ie transfer content and purchases over to the Steam service and allow migration of GfWL accounts over to Steam.

I may not be properly conveying my idea but unfortunately I don't have the time to write several paragraphs right now.
