I, for one, feel that microwave ovens do one thing good (namely popcorn) and everything else horribly.

Making a lasagne in a microwave oven is blasphamy to me.

How do you feel about microwave ovens?

I feel they work, but a nice full sized oven, grill and hob works better by miles. Nothing comes out crispy from a microwave (pizza for example).

I feel like if I need to make something hot that was not previously hot before, a microwave does the job swimmingly.

But cooking? Fuck and no. I have a toaster oven...or my regular oven...for frozen lasagna (mmm, Stouffer's...more please!) or French bread pizza (homemade, of course!)

Get a microwave oven with built in grill then.

I use mine mainly for heating and defrosting. Hot Cocoa in 25 seconds, neat.

I have one of those, it's been almost a year since I made popcorn.

Now I want popcorn :(

They're good for soup, and hot chocolate, and meals that have been cooked before and need to be reheated.
Hmm, can't think of much else.

They have their uses, but are generally inferior to ovens when it comes taste. They are, however, cheaper, faster, smaller, and more energy efficient.

Some stuff primarily made for the microwave tastes awesome. But that stuff is usually heart attack food.

Soup, beans... reheating stew or curry. That's it.

And reheating tea, a bit. But it tends to heat it rather too much.

Cooking? No.
Reheating? Yes.
I cook up a huge batch of something on monday and reheat it though the week.
