Mighty Quest for Epic Loot Open House Unleashes the Chickens

Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is opening its gates to all for a week of pride and plundering.

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot may still be in closed beta, but this week it's lowering its defenses and opening its gates for all the heroes of the realm to test their might. The game's second Open House begins July 30 (so, right now) and runs until August 6. Anyone can venture over to the game's website [https://www.themightyquest.com/en] to get an early taste of the free-to-play tower defense / hack-n-slash title.

The first Open House was relatively brief, though not without its merits - adventurers looted 71 million gold coins over the course of three days, and players' customized dungeon defenses slayed over 300,000 home invaders. This time, though, players have an objective: culling the chicken menace. Vile fowls have been spotted in two high priority "chicken castles," and if the game's heroes can collectively slay 10 million of the beasts they will unlock the mighty chicken as a castle defense for all players in the full game.

Mighty Quest's beta seems to have been effective so far - player feedback has already signing up for the Open House [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/126432-Mighty-Quest-Devs-Too-Much-Premium-Currency-Is-Bad-For-Loot] and stealing all your neighbors' stuff. For the good of the realm, of course.

I admit, despite my dislike for multiplayer games, I've been interesting in trying this one out.

But it apparently requires a UPlay account. And as far as I can tell (based upon information dated January 2013), UPlay still installs a lot of unwanted browser plugins and components that exhibit "root-kit like behavior".

I'll pass until they remove the hard-drive installed DRM from the game that already requires an online connection to play.
Yeah you need a Uplay account but you don't need the Uplay software to get into the game. You just download Mighty quest, put in your login details and there ya go.

Thanks escapist! Playing it now, the timers are annoying (like fb games pay to build faster) but it seems at the momebt at lvl 7 i can ignore them while raiding other peoples dungeons.

You are a vile, evil person and I'm probably going to hell because of you. ;)

Because I'm willing to risk my immoral... I mean, immortal... soul, but I'm not going to risk the stability and security of my PC!

But thank you for the info! If I don't have to install UPlay, I suppose I'll just have to give in to temptation and sign up for Epic Loot.
Any time. Hell needs more people.

Its a pretty cool game, the concept is one I really like, but it still needs some work. Needs some actual epic loot to be honest.
