I will not get FO:NV until at least two more patches come out. It is taking all my willpower not too get the game. I want the game but developers have too know I will not buy a half finished game. If everyone stops buying half finished games maybe they will get the picture.

I know one person alone can not do much but if everyone pitched in to help we might make a difference.
Problem is as you can see everones to busy having fun rather than making a political statment.

I don't know how obsidian does it, they haven't released a single finished game and yet people still buy them up.
Nearly every unfinished mess Obsidian has made is miles better than most freshly polished unambitious turds the game industry pumps out every year.
This is unfortunately true. I seem to end up adoring every Obsidian game no matter how buggy.

Really wish they would fix the bugs. And I really hate when I notice props from FO3... But it is really fun.

Politics, Scmolitics. If I buy a new car I expect it to be a fully functioning car. I do not want to hear, "sorry we will send a patch to fix the steering, breaks, and seat belts. Our apologies for any Crashes that may have occurred." No, I expect a fully operating car. A small flaw here and there is acceptable but FO:NV is just plain absured.

I'm starting ot think with Minecraft's success and now New Vegas', publishers might just say "ah f*** it" to fixing bugs before release. :(

not to say those two games don't deserve their success.

I read the day 1 sales a while ago, they were really high as well, at least on PS3 and Xbox 360. You PC gamers aren't buying enough games, yet you complain the most when developers take note of it.
Did those sales include digital copies?

It isn't just the game that's flying off the shelves, either - the same press release announced that the official New Vegas strategy guide has been one of the best-selling books on Amazon since the game's release.
Why would people who obviously have access to the internet (since the use Amazon) pay money for something they can get for free off the internet? And I'm not even talking about .pdf copies of the strategy guide, I'm talking about walkthroughs, FAQs and guides. Heck, just a quick look at GameFAQs gives you more than you get in that "guide", and it doesn't cost you a cent. Do people just don't like having money?
Not everyone plays at a system with another computer open and online next to them, and at the end of the day, a book is a lot cheaper than another laptop. :p

Because as we all know, when a game crashes it causes tens of thousands of dollars of damage and costs people their lives... wait... what?

The game is amazing.

I was just dissapointed it had no large dungeon areas like the Nuka Cola plant, LOB Industries or Hubris COmics.

No idea. The sales figures for the PC are usually around 10-15% of the console sales for any given title. That said, actual market install rates are about even, usually.

Some researched data here: http://www.tweakguides.com/Piracy_4.html

EDIT:

I'm fairly sure they did. I kinda hope they didn't though, because the PC sales were under 100,000, and those for Xbox 360 and PS3 were both around 300,000 if I'm not mistaken. I'm not that big of a PC gamer myself, but it'd be sad if more PC games lost the features only available to them because of piracy. Like how Dragon Age 2 isn't going to be having the Baldurs Gate style of play that the first did.
Honestly these days sales like that on the PC are nothing short of miraculous. I would have expected with a million sold the PC sales to be around 40k or so.

It's good to hear. It's a good game and all that but it's definitely no Mass Effect 2 and it's not as good as Fallout 3.

Bethesda, let Obsidian do all future Fallout titles. They know how to do them better.
Minus the invisible walls and much smaller map.
Still yes, they deserve to keep making them.
It's never good when I'm fighting with myself to study for an exam rather than go Deathclaw hunting.

Fallout 3 has invisible walls as well. Particularly on the northern border.
