Before it got sold to Microsoft it did not have Phantoms, flying enemies that constantly spawn and harass you constantly if you don't sleep (and ruin your respawn location) for more than 3 days (or every hour).

So yes.

You know, I never played this one. Just seemed more of a "Streamer's game" than a single player one. And Im sure it gets great videos, and Ive seen screenshots of some very very impressive works. I just can't imagine the time and effort all the people who aren't posting their remake of London, or aren't Hololive characters are putting into works...

Honestly I liked it more as a creativity game back before hunger mechanics got added, but that was prior to Microsoft. There was this steady push to make the game more like an adventure while I just preferred mining endlessly and fighting as a matter of necessity rather than the primary loop of the game.

I think it's an issue of how to evolve a game that is effectively digital Lego. You can only add so many new shapes before it gets confusing, and while interesting there is only so much entertainment to gain from adding abandoned mines or villages.

Microsoft seems to have doubled down on the adventure game approach, but it had already started down that path before they cw on the scene.
