Well, I've been searching on the internet for the last couple of hours for a solution to my problem, but to no avail. So I was hoping someone here could help me.

I start mirrors edge (5$ on steam! Woot!) and I get to the training level, I do that. I then load "Chapter 1". But I didn't really load it. all I see is white on the screen. Not respondong, and you can't really alt tab out, and I have to ctrl+alt+delete my way out.

OS: Windows 7, 32.
gfx: gtx 260
cpu: amd athlon 7750 dual core, black edition.
4gb of ram.

I bought it on Steam, and I've already verified my game cache. I'm currently backing up the game file, and am going to reinstall to see if that fixes anything.

I'm hoping someone either knows what's wrong, or can help find a solution.

If anyone here has the same problem as I, post here as well. We can pool our knowledge =]

I had a similar issue and it was just a vid card driver problem.
How so? My drivers work for every other game. Including newer games. .-.

A more specific of a question, which driver did you use, and what gfx card do you have and was it the same problem as I have.

I had that, and I'm pretty sure Konrad is right. If downloading the newest doesn't work (or if you already have the latest), go back a version or two. Maybe tone down the graphics, or turn off the PhysX thing.

I'd try updating the graphics drivers, that's about all I can think of. Maybe turn off physics/motion blur, as they sometimes ruin games (or just generally toy with the settings).

Alright, I'll bump this thread in the morning. It's kinda late for me, and being tired while doing stuff like this will probably have a high likely hood of a royal fuck up.

Actually, thinking about it I doubt it's the drivers.

The training level, was still gameplay with all of the jumps and stuff. And even then the first time I tried to run the level it crashed, but after wards it's working 100% of the time.

I'll give the drivers a try, but my computer has been iffy about drivers so I'd rather not potentially fuck it up.

I'll load a custom map and see if it loads.

Bump for the sake of the hope that some one may post something that will help.
