and here i thought it was due to the huge piles of money that he made the company. i do like his reasoning tho.
Dude, I remember that Popeye game. Either someone else ended up releasing it, or that was their original product...
As a kid, my cousins gave me their whole bin of Nintendo games and their NES - that was one of the games that came with it. I recall it resembling Donkey Kong, but I totally sucked at it, and stuck to playing Mario Bro.s.

That still doesn't explain why Mario makes so many goddamn games that are the same thing!

This is what my cynic believes as well. While I like to believe that it is a weird bit of personal logic, it just seems like lazy design since there isn't much story evolution...CabooseKill400 said:

I don't exactly get what is so fail about it. It doesn't use the Wiimote that much (plus), it's a damn sidescroller! (it's about time. No tennis, no soccer, no shovelware style spinoff)
AND it has new powerups, some of which work really well.
I'd say give it a try at least. Even from someone like me who hasn't liked Nintendo's direction these past years, this is such a step in the right direction.

I'm glad that he decided to not use Mario in every game he made. Instead he's just in most of them.

It's a cop out for a lack of creativity, either that or Mario is a recurring character in Miyamoto's daily acid trips.
