Hi everyone. I just quit an mmo I'd been playing for the past two years and am in need of a change of scenery. I'm trying to find a mmorpg but my computer's stats are not very strong and I'm kind of low on the money section. I was hoping to find some simple game to play around with, maybe socialize while killing stuff. I was hoping for something with separated areas to keep from having to process large environments, kind of like Trickster or Maplestory but neither of those are running on this thing for some reason. Something that not completely pay-to-win would be nice too but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Computer stats:
Acer
Aspire 5250
Processor: AMD C-50 Processor 1.00 GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 2.00 GB (1.73 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit Operating System

I really need something with a stable player base. I've ran into a lot of ghost towns. Was hoping to play a healer class.

I need free to play really. Money's a little tight with classes starting so basically, it needs to be something that's cashshop is mostly cosmetic stuff.

Well you can try out Lord Of The Rings Online on low graphics. I played it for a bit and it was entertaining. Theres also Forsaken World which you can find on Steam which is pretty good, not sure too many people play it though. Runes Of Magic is pretty much crappy copy and Paste version of World Of Warcraft and Everquest which you can try out. Theres also League Of Legends if you want something mindless to play.

Those are still kind of high on the graphics limit for me. So far, the hardest thing I've been able to run was the first Halo's multiplayer and it still has some lag issues.

No idea how full the servers are anymore, but I played Dungeon Blitz for a short time a while ago and found it moderately entertaining. Think of it as basically Maplestory light. It's browser based and run in Flash, so graphics requirements are pretty much a non-issue.

Dungeon Fighter is fun too, though you have to download a client, and graphics requirements are about on par with the aforementioned Maplestory.

Dungeonfighter's fairly close. I'm trying to find something less arcade-ey though. Thanks for the input.

The original Everquest is now free to play, and you can literally set the graphics back to what they were when the game launched in 1998. It's also the best MMO I've ever played.

It looks good. Any idea if a lot of people still play? Also I saw a thing about a 10 day trial. Is it free to play or just up to a certain level or something before requiring cash to continue?

Completely free to play now. It went F2P back in March.

With low specs I can only think of a couple, Everquest, which has already been mentioned, and also the free version of Runescape, the free version has something like ~15,000 hours worth of gameplay (granted 90% of that is level grinding, but thats MMO's for you).

Also, you could try any of the 91.com MMO's (like Conquer Online, Eudomons etc)... they should be playable, but be warned, they are very Eastern in design, so if anime puts you off, don't bother haha.

Anyway, good luck.

I suppose that depends on how you define "completely free". http://everquest.com/free

Anyway, I'd put another recommendation behind LotRO. Yes, a fair deal of the content is locked, but you do have the opportunity to earn Turbine Points (TP) in game so that you can buy content without having to lay out cash.

The original Everquest does not work with the AMD C-50 Processor. I have the exact same laptop.
