Okay, yeah, a second post, I'm sorry but I couldn't ignore this. What the hell is wrong with you. Funny?

This post of yours got me so annoyed, but I plan on keeping my badge for not being banned or probationed yet. And you're not worth a banning. However, I'd be delighted to see a lifetime ban attatched to your name.

I'll sit and await my medal for not tearing the... faeces out of you verbally, and hope that others see the light and report this waste of vital organs.

This would never happen in any other country.

Now I'm not gonna go all anti-USA on your asses, because I'm not ignorant enough to think that all of America is bad, blah blah blah, I know a lot of nice Americans, and it's clear that there are millions more there. But this could only happen in a place where there is so much commercialism, and a sub-concious NEED to buy for greed. So much so that they don't care if someone dies so they can get a few dollars off one of their precious material posessions.

In the small town where I live in the UK (And I MEAN small town, population of no more than 500) I was on my way to work, at the local supermarket that is renouned for selling everything for dirt cheap (Home Bargains for anyone in the UK). There was the largest queue waiting for the shop to open than I had ever seen in my half a year of working there. About 50 people. As I went to walk around the store to the employees entrance, I saw a woman slip on some ice that had been a puddle the night before, just outside the door. About a second after that, the front doors opened, and only about 20 of the people walked into the shop, mainly the ones at the front that didn't see what happened. The rest stopped to make sure she was alright.

This sort of courtesy and civility should happen wherever you are. What this story reminded me of is a load of ants. You see it in documentaries and everything, where a huge colony of ants will be moving somewhere, in an uncaring fashion, waking over each other, not caring, because (And I'm no ant expert) they probably don't have the ability to feel empathy.

Just because the rest of the crowd is doing it, doesn't make it okay, and the worst part is, nobody can be prosecuted. I hope everyone who knows they trampled that poor person is guilt ridden enough so that this material christmas of theirs that cost a human life is ruined for them. But it won't happen.

Because they saved their few extra dollars...

*Edit* I do hope I didn't offend any Americans, but my point was, when I went to the US, the crowds on the streets and in shops were the most uncaring I've ever met, I got walked into several times by people who didn't even look at me afterwards. Just barged straight past. And it was a shock for me, because I've been to most of the major European countries, and 95% of the people, if they accidentally bump into you, or you know, trample you to death, will apologise.

But that doesn't take away the fact that I've met and spoken to a huge number of polite, kind US citizens.
Of course not. In fact your one of the few people who can point out things wrong with the United States and not have the "coutesy" to add "thank god I don't live in that horrible excuse for a country" at the end of their post. I agree with what you said though it's getting way out of hand.

As a Long Island resident (granted, about halfway down the island, not next to NYC), all I have to say is it's gotta be a Wal-Mart thing. Me and my brothers went to the Black Friday opening Friday at a Best Buy to get my cousin a computer, and while there was probably 500 people there, there were no riots, no rampaging to grab things. Everything was orderly and polite, albeit crowded. Even being at the back of the line we had no trouble getting what we were looking for, much less a problem with rampaging customers trampling people.

Honestly, I'd blame this as much on Wal-Mart's unwillingness to do anything that might decrease profits (like, you know, safety and proper staffing) as people's general stupidity. Then again, Wal-Mart does attract the lowest common denominator, I've noticed.

Guys,

I have been all over the world, Europe, Asia, and even the Middle East, and everyone is the same just on different degrees. If anyone thinks this event is any different to or anymore shocking then any other event that involves the needless death of people, OPEN YOUR EYES. GO READ A BOOK, do something to educate yourself.

In America, we have a person killed in Wall Mart because of greed and lust. People who are so selfish that they don?t care who they hurt for a fucking object. (that?s not even that bad)

Europe I witnessed the aftermath of genocide in Kosovo, and it was going on for months and no one stopped it until it broke the news.

Asia, I went to China one time and saw the way they treat each other and there environment is sickening and you think this event is bad, go see what they do when a coal mine caves in on 100+ workers. Then come talk to me about how bad this event was.

The Middle East, saw a lady get beat to death in the street, I have no idea what she did, but I wasn't going to start asking questions right there and then.

These events, be it as small as one death in wall mart, have been going on for a long time; just with different background, and at different degrees of "inhumaneness".

So don't say, "Awwww it?s just them dumb greedy selfish Americans going at it again".
EDIT:^The reason I'm writing about this topic, is because SOME PEOPLE(not everyone in this thread) are thinking this now.

No it should go like this "Awwww its just them dumb greed selfish HUMANS going at it again"

Americans don't need your pity. We should all have pity on ourselves, because most of you can?t grasp such a large concept.

To me, the moment the doors were broken, the manager should have gone on the intercom 'That's all folks, store is closed until further notice, please leave NOW or the police will be called...have a nice day'

Sadly he'd probably have lost his job for closing the store on such a big day.

Honestly, the moment society breaks down like that, all bets are off. You close and you call the police in. You certainly do NOT reward them with bonus discounts.

I heard they also hospitalised 4 others including a pregnant woman.

As right as you are about all these things happening, there's no need to insult. 99% of the people here are just paying their respects to the family of the guy that got killed. And this has outraged many because it's a lot closer to home than what's going on in China etc.

I'm sure you were a lot more upset about 9/11 than those farmers who got slaughtered in China, or the whole Columbine thing?

I can agree with you to a point, I saw some comments that said, "this is just how Americas are" or "Dont take offense to this Americans but....", etc ,etc. And I said that Some people a few are thinking that way. Most are just sadden by the fact this happened that fine, no problem with that, thats called human emotion.

But if anyone in ANY OTHER COUNTRY thinks that they are any better or higher then anyone else, they were the people, I was targeting; for the ones who wrote something and for the many who didn't.

I can just feel my faith in humanity, already almost non-existant, just plummeting by the second.

Yeah, I can guess how irritating this whole stigma around the US must be getting for you guys. That's why I was following your recent election, I'm hoping for your sakes that Obama can make soem changes that raise your reputation in central EU. That's talking out of empathy for the citizens of America that are pulled down by some of the governments decisions, not out of self-righeousness (sp?) by the way.

We need good old human values and morals back, not just across the pond, but everywhere, to stop things like this happening.

*EDIT* Wait, are we the species that used to burn women if they could do maths? Oh yeah, we are, aren't we. Okay, we need to INVENT some lovely human morals...

I can agree with what your saying. Only thing is, I would love to see some real human values and morals be instilled into people, but that's not going to happen all over the world(look at human history for reference).

/satire on

Best case, would be this, EU, US, Canada(Aka The Western world) Team up, and do 1 of two things. Bomb and kill everyone who doesn't agree with us, or good old fashion Imperialism(Win there hearts and minds). After that systematically re-educate the world.

/satire off

I don't know how to fix the problems we have, I don't know where to start, and every time we think we fixed it the same problem comes up in a different part of the world..... Its never ending.

Maybe the US, EU can be come joint overlords of the world, and force everyone else to do our will?

When you think about it, I really hope there is a God.

Obama has a lot of work to do before eastern/central EU team up with the US... Believe me. In the Eurovision song contest (An EU tradition, where every country in europe hires a singer for a continental competition) Nobody votes for Britain, because we are closely related politically to America. We could have the best act ever, and never win.

Europe is a very traditional place. In spain, the people are revolting against the way their country is going, they're turning commercial, and all the old brits are moving there. Their quaint villages are becoming polluted with billboards and huge megamarkets, from American investors who see it as prime location.

Not happy chappies with the UK or US are these countries...

Oh well, who need's 'em!

I guess I should add to the subject instead of trailing off, like I have a habit of doing... Yeah, things need sorting, but not everyone sees eye to eye. It's easy enough to say that the governments should get over their issues and dance around in a peace-sign shaped ring that can be seen from space, but it's not gonna happen. These politicians aren't always acting for us people (however, I'm very impressed with the UK governments approach to fixing this money crisis).

A lot of humans just need to be told what to do, and they'll do it if it's for the greater good. When the squeaky struggling machine that is the human race is given a bit of oil in its cogs, it can do some amazing things. And I hope this wal mart incident is an eye opener for the zombies that entered the shop that morning.

Hevoo, I think the reason we're overblowing this is because of how unexpected it was. We knew black friday got crowded, but...trampling stampedes?! It's the first time I hear of anything like this.

I read that police tried to give the guy CPR but couldn't because people kept pushing the cops trying to get deals on a sweet new toaster, go humanity!
