At least I think this will be number three in as many weeks... Or less.

I wasn't going to before I figure once a third shows up it'll be like a trend of threads and people tend to complain about it. But I've had this question saved up for months so I'm just gonna come out with it.

This will be slightly more open ended though. No polls here.

So, for whatever reason, you've been assigned to find out if somebody is doing a certain something. Maybe a job. Maybe a trade. Maybe to settle a debt. Whatevers...

This particular something is a thing that YOU, Personally, find morally or ethically wrong. To, if not a passionate degree then at least significantly. So we can all assume you don't think it should ever happen and maybe there should be consequences. Yet this is not illegal in any real form as far as society goes.

You also know that if it is discovered that said moral aberration--in your eyes--has been done, the particular consequences for this person who has done said aberration in this scenario is probably, highly likely to be something considerably bad at least--like maybe... locked away forever or a beatdown--and probably death at worst.

How would you choose to act? And if you feel like it, why?

Uh, what?
It's not illegal, but if found out the person will be beaten up or locked away FOREVER? That makes no sense. If something is that "immoral", it will also be illegal.

Sadly, that's not necessarily the case. You'd be surprised at what people won't outlaw if there's enough money involved.

I disagree. I don't think it's especially necessary for that to be hand in hand. I can think of something right now that inspired this thread that isn't illegal but that I find a total aberration.

And I said to YOU. Not in general. What's outrageously "immoral" to one person is probably not that intense for someone else.

Well, then the question is moot. There is nothing I know of that is immoral enough to warrant death/life locked up somewhere that isn't also illegal. So I will report them, for they are breaking the law.
