Hm. Maybe I'm just squeamish, but I see no reason to need any of that in a game. I don't mind a little blood or gore, but I don't like watching stuff like that. Made me feel a little sick.

EDIT: I've been thinking about it, and I guess I just don't like how the mutilations are presented as a core aspect of the game, like a reward for playing the game, not as a means to an end (winning). In other games, you kill the other guy up so that you can have the higher score, not just so you rip his head off.

You must be new to the series. The gore has always been one of the main attractions to Mortal Kombat. I couldn't possibly imagine a MK game without ripping someone's appendages off, throwing them into a meat grinder, skewering them on spikes or melting them alive in a pool of acid.

Mortal Kombat is not Mortal Kombat unless someone leaves the arena with their head violently ripped off and stuck up their ass.

so pissed I wont be able to get this in Australia, unless of course its been given a rating and I've missed something.

no Warner Bros Interactive couldn't do it. Maybe we might get a water down verion of it though

ive never seen a mortal combat game before :/ and LOL we wonder y get a bad press HAHAHA i jest though cos this is just silly as fuck the only fighting game ive actually considered gettin before now

This looked pretty awesome and the cab driver kill at the end made me chuckle.

However, if this game is like the Tekken series in that you can just button mash your way to victory even against someone who has played the game many times then I won't be interested in this game.

Button mashing gets old....really really quick.

I haven't noticed that in Tekken so much... on some of the charcters sure but actually knowing the move sets and being able to pull off counters and what not has always helped against button mashers, at least in my experience.

OT: looks as bloody and mindless as I remember.. and none of that pull out the weapons shit from the last one I played much. Looks good.

I really hope they reconsider making it for PC too. Even if it's ported like Street Fighter 4.
