For me it has to be the damn "Free Spy Checker will now check your computer for spyware. Over YOUR internet connection! *flash blue* *flash green* *flash bright red*". What really pissed me off about it was it's tendency to always appear when I was looking at webcomics. I have to say that it had A "very" official looking interface that filled my browser window, while lovingly blocking my view of the words and image. (And just to show how much it cared) Refusing to disappear unless it made a full connection or I closed my entire web browser. Which meant a lot of opening and closing just to read one frame of webcomic.

So what is the most annoying one you have had uninvitedly appear in your browser window?

Edit: Ads are pretty annoying too.

Does it have to be pop-ups only? Because the ads for Evony are become more and more rediculous.

Sometimes, a little window opens saying:

"This site is running a script that may hinder performance"

"Stop running this script? Y/N"

It makes NO DIFFERENCE which I choose.

The ones that talk. Oh dear Lord I always get "CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO WIN TWO FREE IPOD NANOS" when I'm listening to music and since I always have about 10 tabs open on FireFox at once, I frantically click through my tabs in order to find it. Basically any ad ever made. In fact, annoying ads like that make me NOT want to purchase their product.

I remember mine.

I was at school, searching google.
I clicked on a link, and porn pop ups (that my friend cleverly dubbed "porn ups") started appearing, and hitting the "X" button to exit out just made it worse.

And then a teacher came by...

Man, it took forever before they believed me. Thankfully the 2 people, 1 my friend, the other some dude, saw the whole thing and helped convince the dean I wasn't surfing porn.

Ads that talk. If they're gonna do that, they should at least be Billy Mays-style advertisement voices, cause it's really creepy when they aren't. I was once listening to music when I hear a soft voice say "Hello." I almost legitimately shat myself. When I found out it was an ad I thought about putting my faith in society up for adoption.

On my old laptop I started getting this one that came in two sections.

One was like a Windows Alert Message saying something along the lines of:
"You have a large number of adult sites contained within your browser history, these sites may be harmful to your computer and its files please click OK to continue"
After clicking OK it goes to this "Anti-spyware/virus checker FREE 30-DAY TRIAL blah blah blah"

I also used to get popups from "Katerina" from "Russia" and she wanted to "meet nice English man" etc.
Then there are those annoying flashy ones about free msn emotes and stuff.

Yea I've had a bad history of popups.

This was probably an intentional prank on the part of the web designer rather than a typical popup, but a long time ago I went to this one site somebody on another message board had as their homepage, clicked something, and it brought up this window with a bunch of laughing faces and a sound playing "YOU ARE AN IDIOT, HAHA HAHA HA HA!" and the window then started randomly flying around the screen. If you managed to catch it and close it, four more identical ones would take its place. And if you closed any one of those, four more took its place. Pressing the Reset button on my computer dealt with it.
