I just finished watching Fooly Cooly, and I still don't get the plot. The show is just so hard to follow.

Are there any other movies/anime/games with extremely convoluted plots?

I love that show, but completely agree.

OT: The Iliad.

Dan Brown's new novel.

At least the Da Vinci code was kind of clever. This is just straight up stupid.

I'd say the entireity of the Star Trek franchise has an incredibly messed up and convuluted continuity/plot.

And Terminator 3 and up when you consider all the possible alternative universes, time travel explanations. Its enough to make your brain bleed.

Pink Floyd: The Wall. it has Bob Geldof as some sort of Nazi-esque cult leader ,children being grinded into mince and a kid who kills a rat but then decides to become attatched to it. is that the kind of thing you were after.

EDIT: also had to read Edagar Allen Poe's: Marie Roget for my english A-level. read it 4 times and i still odnt know what happens

I read a volume or two of the manga. Is the anime good?
Um no....you try and get just one second of what's going on and your brain will explode
Oh really? I've watched Primer. That film will send your head spinning with the complicated time travel plot.

Ecco the Dolphin. You're a dolphin whose friends disappear, then you go to talk to a whale, after that you seek out Atlantis and use their time machine to travel back in time to when your friends disappeared. Only to find out that, they were abducted by aliens and you have to rescue them.

Well if you have an attention span of more than a few minutes (unlike me), and you don't get confused by ridiculous names and repetitive phrases (And darkness veiled his eyes) then you'll be fine. Oh, and make sure you can handle some of the most gruesome/brutal/awesome/disgusting death sequences ever.

I remember watching the movie. That was just messed up. So I will second this.

Turn a Gundam. In the end, their is no explanation for anything the main characters do, and characters get confused all the time, genders get mixed up, plus the main character uses his super duber awesome robot...to do laundry. He actually does this. Sub-plots also overly present, mucking up the story.

Well, at least I had a hard time following it.

Edit:Oh, I forgot Gurren Laghan, mainly because evolution is equal to magic.
