Anyone else who has seen this movie can attest to the reasons I was crying like a newborn child at the end.

Biggest downer ending I've ever seen. But at least I came away with knowlege of some of the best tourist spots in Mane.
Yeah, it's quite sad. I watched it multiple times when I was a little kid and yet I always ended up crying.Alyssacubi said:The Iron giant, oh god, I cried over that when I was a young girl. <3
Thank you, i'm now going to have to dig out this movie and watch it again. <3
I think that's why I didn't find it depressing, because I could see it coming and it seemed inevitable. Also, if what happened didn't happen* then it would have ruined the whole premise of the film and would have become a character study more than a film.Hagi said:For me that was exactly why it was so depressing.
From the start you know it's coming. You keep hoping it won't. You see it inching closer and closer and throughout you feel something should happen to prevent it, I mean surely the universe can't be THAT cold and cruel.
But the universe is. And it happens. It was inevitable.
