The outcome of the Greco-Persian wars. This had an immense impact on the development of Western thought and philosophy.

The birth of religion is the nuber one event.

After all no other event has caused such horrific and wonderous) rammifications.

From Ghandi to the crusades. Religion covered it all.

Beat me to it.

That's what I get for watching Dexter.

But yeah. My birth.

My birth. Trust me, it's not a huge deal yet, but it will be. Just you wait...

For the other 7, I'd say (in no order): the invention of the written word, early civilizations (see black lincon's examples), fire, the Internet, the wheel, the collection of ideas which is considered "higher mathematics" (anything above simple geometry in my book), and MaxTheReaper. He is the whole event.

Edit: Wow, I am a slow typist since so many people managed to get their births before me. Last I saw, black lincon was the last to post.
Ninja'd.

I agree with a lot of these other suggestions, but I also have to mention the black plague. It killed off around 1/3 of the population of Europe allowing for surplus in the rest of the population, which led to the beginnings of the Renaissance, which obviously led to a lot of the culture that we have today.

I believe this warrants /thread.

If were including pre-historic events, then it's the creation of music.

Edit: After contemplating it, I would say the creation of stone tools, thus also signifying the creation of culture.

Fall of the Roman Empire, discovery of fire, the Crusades, World War I, World War II, the American Revolution, the French Revolution and Darwin's theory of evolution.

That's just my opinion, though. Who knows if I'm right.

you never mentioned my birth. i believe that's more important than the evolution theory, because evolution produced me.
