Bloom County. Some of the humor is dated, but most really holds up to time.

God of War, atleast until the next one comes out.

Mass Effect...

Seriously, though, I'd say Fallout. Sure Fo3 got lots of hate, but that was mostly butt-hurt fanboys (and Fallout has some of the most rabid fans). FNV seems to have soothed a lot of them, that or they just got tired of whining.

Half Life, definitely.

Calvin and Hobbes? I saw rule 34 of it one time and... Yeah. Yeah. Totally killed it for me. Killed everything. Calvin, Hobbes, my childhood.... ;_;
You should see Robot Chicken's version of it....that was sarcasm.

How about Back to the Future?
The quality's pretty consistent there.
Oh, and Cowboy Bebop. While the film wasn't AS good as the series, it was still above average.
The film managed to completely outdo the series in terms of music, however.
I disagree with you on that. While the animation quality was vastly improved (as is to be expected) the music was uncharacteristicly bland, because it was mostly western pop and hip hop, as opposed to the smooth jazz that made the series what it is. Even the titular Knocking on Heaven's Door was forgettable.
Of course, this is a purely subjective opinion and not what everyone thinks.

the dragonball and dragonball Z TV series/movies. epic show all round. sure there's DBZ:GT and evolution but neither where created from the original creator so they aren't counted in my opinion. as for the games any Valve title obviously.
