Some stuff does get cut just because it's not up to scratch, or detracts from where the game should be going. It happens in the movies too. I hope that the cuts are for pruning the game and not for some DLC rip-off or because Microsoft refused a 2-disc deal.

Dear god be DLC. NEVER make that mistake again!
The mistake they made with FFX-2 was terrible story and creative design. If the content cut from XIII was that bad, we wouldn't want to see it anyway.

Heaven forbid they would make multiple discs, a la, Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9. Then again, if that were the case, I can understand why it would have been cost effective to not make a multi-disc retail game.

Eh-after games like Dragon Age: Origins, (which I'm still nowhere near finishing and have lost almost all interest in bothering) I think less of a game can be a good thing, assuming it's the fun bit. Less pointless cutscenes can definitely add fun.

Isn't the game like 120 hours long?
50-60
Really? Isn't that kinda short for a Final Fantasy game?

The only one I played was 8, 9 and 10 (and 10 2) but I remember spending a bit more time on it than just 60 hours.

Meh. Not so surprising really, given the amount of work that goes into a game that's what... 50-70 hours long? Can't wait to get my hands on a copy!

They probably didn't have room on the disks. Current disks can hold just about 50 Gigs of content, and with a 60 hour game you are bound to get really close to that limit without even trying. It's one disk so you can't fit much more than that.

"enough content was deleted from the project to make an additional game."
As in another major FF game?

My immediate concern is whether or not the evil specter of censorship was involved here.
what kind of zoos have YOU been to?
Hehe, sorry just had to quote that. It made me crack up.

I wonder why it's always the zoo [http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Zoo]?
Wow I would have loved to see a zoo underwater.

See, Dragon Age to me isn't a particularly long or "big" game. It's constantly described as such, but I think there's a lot of unnecessary and ultimately boring stuff in there (IE ALL of the Orzhamar and Dalish quests). Sure, it's a fun and big game, but compared to pretty much any FF it lasts as long as a virgin in a red light district populated entirely by pornstars, with or without the DLC.

I don't know what you're talking about-I finished all the FF games in somewhere around 40-50 hours of play each, (and yes, I did do most of the optional side quests in that time as well, such as the chocobo games). If I got dedicated to finishing Dragon Age it would take roughly the same amount of time. There are many things that could be cut out of any FF game and/or Dragon Age and you would still have roughly the same experience.

With a big game like this with a design team so large. It's no suprise alot of stuff gets thrown on the table and much of it doesn't make it in.

Still, if it had made it in I don't think anyone would finish it, less is more and it seems they realised that, Portal is an example of a game where less is more.

Sounds like a smart move from the heads back there.

Don't care, I'm more interested in FFXII's Sequel Fortress [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xh4z9Ei2PXc]. The sooner they pop this crumby installment, the sooner XII-2 comes out.

Halfway through chapter 7 of what I believe is going to be 13 and, it's been a very linear ride. A very, VERY linear ride ... I haven't come across any mini-games, side quests or even a decent amount of Gil ... not to mention the lack of an iconic final foe or, main antagonist of any kind. I thought at first it would be the Fel'Cie but ... I'm just not sure
