You O-Ring the Avatar token, and he could just drop 1 more mana to make another token. You o Ring an equipment, and you still got the 9/9 (or 4/4 if you ring the sword) to deal with.

I prefer [mtg_card=Violent Ultimatum]. You're still left with the shield, but hey, it gets the job done a bit more thoroughly.

It would, except that the shield makes Kaldra, the sword and the helm indestructable. Exile is the only option here. Exile the shield, Doom Blade the Avatar, then worry about the sword and helm.
