Movie Dilemma

Technically I'm asking for advice so felt this question should be asked here.

Im looking for a movie...
I like 40k and want to see a movie with a similar feel.
Maybe based around a squad of soldiers with space ship battles and alien planets.
Something maybe like Starship troopers, but you know, actually worth watching.

As compensation maybe some TV shows that dont get bogged down in weeks and weeks of redundant crap. Something that keeps me on my toes and entertained.

All I got popping into my head the the "Battleships" movie coming out, though to be honest I think it looks absolutely ridiculous XD

I take it you've seen Ultramarines. If not, go watch it. It might help to get drunk first.

Aside from that, the only one I can really think of right now is Wing Commander. Again, it might help to get drunk first.

They're not cinema classics, but they're fun to watch.

Starship Troopers:Invasion is coming out this fall so keep an eye out for that. Aside from that, try Aliens.

And Starship Troopers is a good film .

40k is OTT fun. Therefore I would reccomend Godzilla.

Edit: Probably best to start with the later ones and work backwards. Perhaps Final Wars as it has a kung fu fight on a motorcycle.

The first Starship Troopers weren't to bad. And I would say its just as camp as the 40k universe

That said I can't think of any other movies that you could call "worth watching" since ou didn't even want to watch Starship Troopers... Scifi movies aren't often high budgeted, and have historically been campy.

You should find it online quite cheap...
Haven't seen it myself yet though... cept a few scenes...

What you could consider is to look in the direction of Anime. They tend to have a lot SciFi, but also their own tropes which can be rather cheesy.
