Im hearing alot of complaining about how movie theaters are getting too expensive so i have a solution. How about half-movies. I think its perfect pay half the fee to watch half a movie. If you like it you can pay the rest to see the rest but if it sucks you dont feal ripped off. I guess there would have to be some kind of security issue for people that have half-movie tickets vs people with full ones and are just gonna sit down and watch anyway and dont have to pay the rest, maybe they can separate the seating and if half movie people are going to just secretly sit on the full movie side and hope nobody notices then people have serious issues. Just an idea

That means that movies will get intermissions, and that will take people out of the "moment"

And how is that going to solve anything? You still have to pay full price if you want to watch the whole movie.

Even if it's a horrible movie, I would feel obligated to see it through to the end. I mean, I've already made it half way, why not go the full length?

A better solution: Get someone else to pay for you. Problem Solved!

I don't go to the movies often enough to care, although an intermission would break the flow, badly, and you pay to go to the movies to add to the experince. If your not sure, just wait till it comes out on dvd and rent it.

How do you do that for a movie that's like 90 minutes? You'd have only about 45 minutes before intermission.

Tickets here cost around 23 bucks (AUD)
Is this more Americans bitching about how their prices are actually cheap compared to the rest of the world?
Always...

Dear god, you should see video game prices in some areas, and yet we (Canada included) keep bitching about our prices @_@.

Just a thought, the OP's system is stupid.

Pay for a first half and stay for the entire movie. Unless that IS the plan.

A family of 4 can easily spend $100 (AUD) for just one movie.

Tickets x 4 + Popcorn x4 (or a big one) + Choc top x4 =

Simple solution is, as has been said, to either pirate the film or sneak into the theater. Or, if you were once a popcorn jockey like I was, then you can just use the friends you may or may not have made to get in for free.

Slightly off-topic: Why is it that everything of any real entertainment value seems to be about twice as expensive in Australia? Every time I hear anything out of Australian posters here, it has something to with outrageous prices on things. Does the country have a fun tax or something in place?
