It's very frustrating that rap is the whipping boy constantly. The culture intolerance and ethnocentrism is off the charts here. It's funny though when people go "well how about you rap" and then the hater goes "well i was going to the store! then i walked some more!" or some other cheesy rhyme, then do some pose from the 80's thinking they're all sorts of cute.

Also. Soulja Boy though? Wouldn't you call bullshit if people criticized rock by always slinging the name Nickelback? If people used Limp Bizkit's first album to criticize metal? If people used Marilyn Manson to criticize industrial? And those artists actually do their job well. Their job is not to be classy, to impress a bunch of jaded cynics, or to please some angry internet people. It isn't. On the topic of nu metal vs. 'real metal', I said this a few times before:

It isn't like (insert nu metal band that enlarges e-peen if hated on) called eachother and said, "YOU KNOW WHAT WE SHOULD DO?! WE SHOULD MAKE A RADIO VERSION OF SOME MUSIC WE NEVER HEARD OF! FOR MONEYYYY!" and the response was "WE'LL BE ROLLING IN MALLGOTH FAAAANS"

People should hop off the high horses.
