I've noticed That a lot of games have recently used songs from artists that were popular in the 1940s and 50s in their games, such as Bing Crosby, Noel Coward and Bob Crosby.
In fact, both Bioshock and Fallout 3 have both used a number songs by the Ink Spots and Billie Holiday. Both these games are praised as having great immersion and atmosphere. So why is it we find music from this era lends itself so well to video games?
Also it looks like Bioshock 2 will be continuing this trend because the trailer has The Pied Pipers playing in the back round. The band was popular in the late 1930s and early 1940s
