Music public restrooms. Crappiest idea ever, or holy crap?

I found this. Don't know how I feel about it.

It's a set of public toilets, that play music when people use them.

One part of me thinks it is the most stupid idea anyone could ever have and a product of marketeers convincing their client (who has more money to spend than solid ideas to spend it on) to do something that makes no sense.

And yet... is a weird way... it makes sense.

It is an original idea, I'll give it that much...

P.S. I am not going to turn this into ANOTHER poll. I think that function has been abused to death. Just write whatever comment you want.

I remember reading in some Bungie update during the Halo Reach Era that the update guy was hearing Marty's Halo music during the time he was taking a dump, and how it was the most epic dump he ever took. As long as they do that I've got no problem with it, but if they're going to pipe some crap over the speakers those things will be in the toilet, covered in shit before I get done. They've been warned.

I'm conflicted, on one hand I like to make as little noise as possible when I do my business so I wouldn't want to use the toilet myself but on the other hand its very awkward having to listen to other noisier people do theirs in neighboring stalls. How about a compromise and just play music in the toilets at all times? It would have to be something very unobtrusive though, like classical or lounge jazz or something, and probably instrumental.

I suppose that would be suitable in music festivals just as long it isn't too loud but in the restrooms in a shopping mall? Not so much.

i prefer toilets that play games myself but they do tend to be a bit sexists

Good idea, poor implementation. They need power metal, each person added makes it a little more epic.

Though, I don't know how this compares to others, but in my experience they're just full all the time, so the whole different layers thing is kinda lost.

It'd probably end up being music I didn't like, seeing as I didn't like the crap they had playing in the demonstration.

I think it's a bad idea.

Eh, not as bad an idea as advertisements with QR codes in them above urinals. Do people actually get their phones out and start taking pictures at urinals?

They need them to be very quiet for awhile and if the person is taking too long ... they suddenly burst into a song or play a yelling/gunshot clip to scare them into hurrying up.

God, that video was so fucking hipster, its toilets that make sound, you are not changing the world, damnit!

Other then that its not a bad idea, the idea of them playing in sync with each of them being one element of the song is kind of neat.

Quite a solid idea, I definitely don't see this getting flushed out of the public's memory. However, something smells a bit weird about the way they executed this. I...I can't do this anymore.

Where's DVS BStrD when you need him?

What a stupid idea, have the people advertising this product ever been to a music festival? No amount of music pumped into the portaloo will distract from the horrible overflowing mess that festival toilets become. Thats what the people at the people at the start of the video were indicating, not the lack of Arctic Monkeys being played in there. Plus the music would have to be so loud as to overpower the sounds from the campsite disco/stages nearby and that still wouldn't distract from the fact that someone has somehow missed the hole and shit all over the seat and then rubbed it all over the toilet walls despite the fact it has an Arcade Fire soundtrack.

I hope this company goes bust due to how fucking stupid their idea is.
