Recently, I went to see a musical, and while I didn't care much for it (it was Billy Elliot, if you must know) I got to thinking about why there aren't any musicals based on games. There are musicals harvested from the realms of movies and books, but why not games? Personally, I think this could be a good thing for some games. Assassin's Creed's long-winded dialogs would certainly benefit from music.

So what games do you think would make good musicals? Which ones would you actually pay to see? Personally, apart from Assassin's Creed, I really want to see a Fallout 3 musical.

ON TOPIC WITHOUT PLUGS: Besides Bioshock, I would think a Metal Gear Opera would be fantastically hilarious.

I would probably have to be something with a lot of drama and a fairly linear storyline.

My latest idea is a CoD4 musical. The game is already three parts! There could be a "Ghillies in the Mist" duet! A "Crew Expendable" dance number! Griggs already raps in the credits!

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Dragon Quest is, or was, in the guiness book of world records as being the only game to have a musical based off it.

That would be absolutely awesome. So long as they don't fire half of the story writers and actors to focus on the multiplayer..*cough cough* ..sorry, seem to have been sidetracked >_>

Half Life musical with non-stop Gordon! Also a Guitar hero musical!

On a more serious note, Punch Out!, Shenmue, Shenmue 2, Yakuza, possibly Okami though kabuki might suit that better, maybe God hand, Viewtiful Joe 1+2 maybe a Street Fighter musical.
