Goddamnit. Gill's Resurrection came back.
You said it, Grahav. To make matters worse, it looks like it might not be interruptable. :(
If it is, you've gotta be right on top of Phoenix when she goes down the 1st time to have a chance @ stopping it...
True, but as another poster said, it takes all 5 super bars to do this. That's a fairly large handicap to play with.

Not only that, but look at her health bar in Dark Phoenix mode. It's constantly dropping. I'd say the developers put some thought into this, so it doesn't really look broken at all.

Personally, I probably won't be using Phoenix. Nothing against her or anything, but I can already tell I'm not going to like using that moveset, with that low health.

On the other hand, Haggar looks fantastic. I can already tell I'm going to like him. My only real concern with him is his speed. That vid doesn't really show how fast or slow he is, so I can't really get a gauge on it.

I really can't wait for this game.

Were there really a legion of fans demanding Mike Haggar get put in the game? He's such an obscure character: Final Fight hasnt had an game since the mid-90's.

Also, I hope I'm not alone in saying that I dont want Sentinel back in the game. Either he gets a complete balancing overhaul or is omitted completely, otherwise MvC3's online is going to be plagued with douche Sentinel players.

I know I wasn't the only one who watched the entire Haggar trailer with a big =D on my face. That was so cool. I'm so happy they threw him in. I love it! I need to get this game ASAP!

I get a feeling that Haggar will be the first guy to get discovered with an infinite combo. Unless the devs implemented a way to specifically escape long combos (like calling an assist while your main is being pummeled).

Am I the only one thinking Phoenix has the potential to be ridiculously OP in this game? I mean, hypers that heal herself as she takes and deals damage, the ability to not die while seemingly tripling her damage output (at the cost of health degen, which is a nice touch)... Looks like a lot of people are going to use her to try and stall the clock.

Also, *puts on the nerd pants*, Dark Phoenix has destroyed galaxies, not just planets. I say that's way more impressive. Her inclusion also makes it more plausible Galactus will show up.

That's actually pretty cool although I wish they'd add Jon Talbain (Gallon) from Darkstalkers. I ask for so little.

Is it just me or do fighting game developers forget that two people usually play these? Phoenix has that combo where she knocks someone into the air and keeps going for 10 hits while the player sits on his or ass waiting for a chance to play again.

Games like Tekken and MK vs DC were really bad about this but I thought developers would have learned to keep juggles short before the other player is punched in real life.
Well the timing has to be perfect a lot of the time in Air combos.
One mistimed hit and the whole thing falls apart adding to the risk.
And Air Combos are just one of the MvC franchise's "things".

But i agree that some can be too long....but its also just so much fun.

I have a feeling His Speed is going to be slower than most characters but faster than other Grapplers.
Though did you notice hoe ridiculous his Reach is?
Its like his arms can stretch.

That's my point it's fun for the person doing it but infuriating for the person on the other side. It doesn't matter how hard the combo is to do because there's no way for the other player to stop it once it starts unlike Soul Calibur or even Super Smash Brothers. The result is more like a single player game where you get one or two hits, close your eyes, and let mussel memory take over. By focusing on combos while ignoring the whole hitting-your-opponent-without-getting-hit aspect, developers turn fighting games into single player games.

The only thing is the whole point of fighting games are Hit your opponent without getting hit or taking too much damage, plus long combos have been a staple of the VS series since Street Fighter VS X-Men.
The thing about doing the same combos also is that once you become predictable then you are at a huge disadvantage, especially long ones because of the time it gives your opponent to think.
So even if you are being hit with a combo you still have to stay in the game.

Also Tekken is a horrible game to compare to VS fighters as its juggles are almost always infinite.
The whole point of Tekken is juggles.
The whole point of VS Fighters is Flashy combos and team ups for maximum dmg.
Also re-watching that Phoenix combo...it doesn't even last that long.
3-4 seconds tops.
Hardly turns the match into a Single player match.

But on a side note, it took 5 levels of the superbar, and it looks like she has very low defense.
That, and she takes damage overtime when in "Dark Phoenix" form. But also gains super over time. So... learn to block.
