And this is why Ubi's new DRM will totally fuck up.

Anyway, hopefully they'll get this patched for the people who have lost all their stuff.

I'm pretty amazed that someone didn't think to program the bloody calendar properly.
Yeah that part sounds kind of odd to me too. Most PCs nowadays can track years up to a century beyond, how is it they didn't double check when a leap year was and wasn't?

Maybe they'll say a fix will take at least a month, and get all the addicts to upgrade to PS slim, those clever bastards

If it's not some clever scheme (I'm sure it's not, that was a joke) then this is a sad sad fail. A CALENDER error? really Sony? Really?

I mean COME ON, I thought we had the art of making a fucking digital calender down by now, after Y2K and all, I mean, how hard is it to make a freaking digital calender that doesn't absolutely destroy your entire console?

Oh goddamn it. I can't even launch Heavy Rain with this bug. I wonder how long it'll be until we have a workaround :(

"some users"? HA, serious contender for understatement of the decade there!
this just in: hitler was a mean man.

OT: yeah, mine's jacked-up too... Hope it doesn't affect MAG too too much... or Blazblue

I have a playstation 3. I haven't used it in the past day. I hope that the problem will be fixed soon. I am contributing to this thread.

Bahahaha, and here I thought switching to a newer PS3 would come back to bite me.
At least MW2 won't be filled with 12 year olds anymore.

Good thing I've been giving my handhelds more attention as of late. In fact I got Silent Hill Shatered Memories on PSP yesterday.

Mine seems unaffected thankfully, but then again I've rarely been on PSn since the launch of MW2
You could unplug your wireless router before you turn your PS3 on. There you go, muchos heavy rain action for you good sir :)

In fact, I believe I have just soleved the problem for everyone. Unless you want to play online of course, but even Sony can't take THAT long to fix the problem. Um, right?

OH NO! something that doesn't effect me at all!
no, that's inconsiderate.
That does suck though. I hope they get some sort of patch before it's too late.

It's a good thing I got a Slim PS3. But still, couldn't people reset the date to the current one after it gets reset? Although that seems too simple.

Ehh, I turned mine on before to play some Star Ocean, I didn't check the trophies or my saves or my downloaded content and I don't wanna risk turning it on again.
Am I safe if I didn't sign into PSN?

There isn't a single game I can play, I don't have any demos left because I deleted them for space, and games I've bought form PSN like Mega Man 9 aren't working.

We all know what this means... I can go and play some Fallout instead!
Or you could post more on the Escapist!
Or I could *gasp* do both!?
*applause for multitasking*

By the way, my condolences to all PS3 owners.

I am a gamer and never cared for the "this system is better" argument. I own Xbox, PS2 and GameCube from the previous generation and most of the consoles from the past 20 years, however, this is the first time where I haven't had an urge to own all the consoles for the generation.
