Mysterious Bug Cripples PS3s Worldwide

There isn't a single game I can play, I don't have any demos left because I deleted them for space, and games I've bought form PSN like Mega Man 9 aren't working.

We all know what this means... I can go and play some Fallout instead!

Not at all. You see, I recently put all my experience points in Multitasking!

So now I can perform 100% on several tasks at the same time!

Posting, playing fallout, making a sandwich, and some other stuff..

This is why I hate DRM; "oh, you want to use your product that you paid for? TOUGH SHIT! You can only use it when WE decide!"

It's my fucking game. Movie companies don't insist I can only watch DVDs on a single DVD player, and only when that DVD player is connected to the net, so why the fuck to game companies think they can get away with it?

Except that movie companies tried to enforce that too but they ran into issues with rental disks. If it weren't for those, all blu ray disks would be locked up as tightly as one of ubishits crappy belated console ports.

Except for pirates of course, who get everything hassle free as usual.

Do you think we will get the trophies we lost back?

I think Trophies are connected to you're PSN account. So you should probably get them back once this whole mess is over and you're able to log back in.

Though, best not to play any games with valued Trophies in the meantime. I think I'd go a little insane if I lost my Uncharted 1/2 Crushing Trophy or my Trophies for Demon's Souls.

Well my older 60 GB PS-3 is on the fritz, to be honest this makes me angry because if I wind up having to replace the system I will have a hard time getting another one that is backwards compadible.

Not to mention the fact that I have like no idea how I'd come up with a few hundred dollars that quickly.

My major concern right now though is how if I can't link to PSN, they could possibly patch it.

I heard about this today (Not on here where it clearly states not to turn on your PS3)
So i went to turn on my Ps3 found that just like the others.. It's fucked.
Then after sitting on my bed.. staring at the screen pissed off..
Guess what??
The TV broke, screen went blank.. and now it wont turn on again.

Both a Ps3 and a Tv fucked in one day..
Im not happy.

I think Trophies are connected to you're PSN account. So you should probably get them back once this whole mess is over and you're able to log back in.

Though, best not to play any games with valued Trophies in the meantime. I think I'd go a little insane if I lost my Uncharted 1/2 Crushing Trophy or my Trophies for Demon's Souls.

I worked hard for my AVP Nightmare trophies, I am getting seriously pissed if I lose them.

I am not as pissed off about this as I should be. Last night, when I thought it was just my system, I was extremely pissed. It happened only once and as long as Sony is trying to fix it, then I am okay with it. In the mean time, it just means I pay more attention to my Wii and 360 until the problem is solved. I have been neglecting them so much.

Still a better track record than my 360, though. I know that I am not typical, but I had to replace my 360 4 times since I bought it 2 years ago. Damn the Gamestop replacement policy is so convenient: Do anything short of willfully cause the item damage and as long as you give them 20.00 dollars each time, they give a new one.

Although I read somewhere that if you've synced your trophies you still have them.

Eh, I already got my optimal build for DPS. I need a good tank build and equips, though. Then I can respec into a tank as needed.

Good point. Also don't games generally cost at least 3X times the price? Well this is definitely a load of horse shit.

I like trophies but they aren't that big a deal for me, I don't have a single platinum, and due to not chasing them my gamer score (compared to what it could potentially be) on my 360 is pathetic. I get what I get, but I can see how people are really upset since so many people are into this.

Now the big question I have with this thing is whether or not any prophets of doom have predicted this. I mean in two years some believe the world is supposed to end. We have all these flood and earthquakes that seem like they could be heralding something (insert dramatic music), did anyone foresee the PS-3 crash?

Any Nostradamus, "Bible Codes", or Kabbala experts out there?

Hmm I thought my PS3s clock just reset becuase it's needed to be repaired* if it's related to this issue I prevented it by resyncing the clock manually before playing online with it again on Febuary 28th. Maybe if you can adjust the time to a date after such time of March 1st 2010 it'll fix that glitch?

* By Repair I mean the System's fan broke an had to be fixed to function not that I couldn't sign in online.

Eh, I already got my optimal build for DPS. I need a good tank build and equips, though. Then I can respec into a tank as needed.

I suggest you do some quests then. Try scoring high on the D&D quiz (cheating is allowed), or perhaps give constructive criticism to user reviews.

That should earn you some good starter-tank gear. Then you can move on to heavier dungeons, like Forum Games, and later we can traverse into Religion and Politics. If you are prepared, that is.
